Worked well for 1 year

This door worked fine for a year, and then no matter how we cleaned it or how many times we changed the batteries, it wouldn't open, just made clicking sounds It

Works Great

This is great. Took a couple days for the cats to get over the clicking sound but other than that. Awesome!

So far, so good

It does what it says and opens and locks every time. The tiny dog can go in and out and the cat cannot go out but, if she escapes, she is programmed to be let back

It does what it says and opens and locks every time. The tiny dog can go in and out and the cat cannot go out but, if she escapes, she is programmed to be let back in. And the packrat cannot come in! We had to return a different door that didn't work at all, this is miles better.

Our loves coming and going as he pleases!

This was easy to setup and install! Yes, there is a click and it made Bijoux jump at first, but once he realized he could come and go as he pleased, he got over

We replaced our old cat door to our garage with this dual scan cat door to keep unwanted animal intruders out. It was easy to sync with our cats chip and easy to install where the old door was. We and our cat are very happy. Good price on Chewy and fast delivery.

Used it for the basement door so our cat could get to her litter box during the day without the dogs getting nosey. We also lock it at night so she wasn't waking us up. After about 6 months of using it, she managed to bust the dial locking mechanism from repeatedly trying to claw her way through the door at night. Tried to contact the manufacturer for a replacement dial, but never heard back after multiple attempts. If you have an intelligent cat that is very persistent, this is not the door for you.

Great door

Easy to install, works well. Keeps out unwanted pests and my cat figured out how to use it right away. Raccoon problem solved!

The first one that came to me had obviously been opened.. items were haphazard in the box and the hardware bag was torn and some screws were missing. I contacted Chewy and they immediately sent a replacement.. though it took about a week to get to me. I concur with some of the comments that mention the loud click of the locking mechanism engaging and disengaging. My cat is getting over that but it's definitely an impediment. My biggest issues are the size of the opening and the claim that it can be installed through walls. My cat weighs about 13 lbs and he is able to get through the door but it's like a military crawl with his back legs sticking out of the opening before he finally gets to the other side. I do not recommend this going through walls. It doesn't make sense that SureFlap doesn't just provide some kind of an insert that you can cut to length. If this was going through a standard 2-in door it probably wouldn't be an issue. But if it's going through a wall there is a significant gap and buying extenders that are only two inches thick or so and having to buy multiple of those to get through a wall just means a longer narrower tunnel and an unessential expense. The microchip reader does a good job. The problem is you have to make your cat stick their head into the thing with it clicking to get it started. So your cat will already be gun shy about this crazy contraption to start with. If I didn't already have a hole in my wall or if I had a house that was constructed out of more forgiving material I would probably be looking for an alternative.

DOES NOT WORK WELL WITH IMPLANTED CHIP

My cat has his chip in between his shoulder blades (which is where most cats have been implated) but it was too far away from the chip reader to register and open

My cat has his chip in between his shoulder blades (which is where most cats have been implated) but it was too far away from the chip reader to register and open the catflap. Could only get it to function properly with vendors collar tags which hang off a collar, unfortunately, my cat will not keep a breakaway safety collar on for more than 12 hours (so costs me $30 for lost tags and collar) to realize this system does not work well with an implanted chip - so sad I really wanted this to work.

We got this in order to allow our older cat unrestricted indoor/outdoor access but keep our new Bengal/Ragdoll kittens inside. It worked great...for a while. Then one of the boys figured he could tailgate her on her way in or out. And then, I think thanks to his opposable thumbs (he's polydactyl), he figured out how to hold down the latch and open the door inward to let himself out. So we have to keep it locked all the time, which kind of defeats the purpose. It also just started randomly unlocking itself all the time, so I also had to pull the batteries. As a product in general, it's fine. For my household, it's basically useless.
