Kitten: Feed up to twice the adult amount to kittens.
Amount of food your dog requires will depend on activity, age, environment, and breed. Feed at room temperature and refrigerate unused portions. Always provide access to clean fresh water.
Gradually transition your pet to any new food over the course of 7-14 days to help avoid the digestive upset that abrupt changes in diet can cause. If your pet tends to be on the sensitive side, it may be best to take a little extra time.
Start by feeding your pet a mix of 25% new food and 75% old food for the first few days.
Then, increase the amount of new food to about 50% and feed that half-and-half mix for a few days.
Proceed to feeding 75% new food/25% old food for the next few days.
Complete the transition by feeding just the new food on its own.

A BIG hit with 2 out of 3 cats, some cans dented.

So, I have 3 felines, and in general, most are not very picky with their food, but the one who is the most picky - (a 3.5 year old Tortie) - ended up not wanting to eat this Strong Heart Special Supper Dinner. However, on that note, I've purchased this brand in the Chicken Pate flavor/type and she LOVES that one! I have a feeling that if I were to leave this out and she was feeling rather hungry she would eventually start eating it and like it. She's been known to do that before! Now, my 14.5 year old "Wegie" male LOVED this one, and my 8 - 9 year old (formerly feral Tortie) female likes it, as well. Overall, I would def. purchase this again because I liked the ingredients list and 2 out of 3 cats are enjoying this brand and flavor, which is good enough for me. Unfortunately, of the case that I received, at least 9 of the cans had some type of dent present, and four of the cans were significantly dented to the point that I'm considering not serving it to the cats for fear of bacterial growth (Clostridium botulinum) in the event that the dent has caused oxygen to enter into the can(s).

However, as a cat parent, I’m not thrilled with the ingredient list. Animal by-products being listed as the first ingredient doesn’t sit well with me, and it makes me question the overall quality and nutrition behind the formula. Because ingredients are important to me when choosing what to feed my pets, that’s a big drawback. So while my cats clearly enjoy it and will happily eat it, my comfort level with the ingredients keeps my rating at 3.5 stars. If the quality of ingredients were improved, this would easily be a 5-star food based on feline approval alone.

I was hopeful that this food would be a hit with my cats. I have four of my own, as well as multiple fosters and friendly strays that I feed. Unfortunately, all but one turned their noses up at it. The one who did try it only ate a few bites and left the rest behind. I chose the special supper dinner because of the multiple meat sources, thinking it would be more tempting. But like all cats, mine are very picky and rarely like new foods. I wish they did love it, because the large can would be so convenient for feeding multiple cats at once instead of opening a bunch of packets or cans. i gave it three stars because it seems like a decent food. I think this would be idea for a rescue that feeds multiple cats. It would be very cost effective.

I tried again two days later and their reaction was the same. Fortunately, our neighbors cat comes over to eat daily and he seems to like it as does another cat who comes to eat occasionally, so it will not go to waste. I suppose my cats are creatures of habit and don't want to depart from their favorite foods.

All the cats love it. We have more than one cat in our home. It is great that we can open just one can and feed our troop. They love the taste. It is a clean plate

We have some picky eaters so i was impressed. I was hoping for a tad bit more protien but it falls in the normal range. I would recommend this brand, especially if you have more than one cat. It makes it easy to deal with meal time!
