Who says you need summer for a good T-bone? Apparently, Zeus and Zara don’t. The second these cans hit the counter; they acted like I was grilling steaks in the living room. I cracked it open and, honestly, it smelled good enough that I considered grabbing a fork. This wet food from A Strong Heart comes in 5.5 oz cans, made with real meat, no corn, wheat, peas, soy, or any of the other usual dog food filler suspects. No artificial flavors, no preservatives, and made in the USA — basically the dog food equivalent of a farm-to-table restaurant. Then I read the feeding instructions. It says 1½ cans per 5–6 lbs. of dog. I have two 100 lb. dogs. So according to the label, Zeus and Zara each need 25–30 cans per meal. At that point I realized this food is not a meal — it’s a luxury garnish. A treat. A culinary accent. A Michelin star drizzle on top of their dry kibble. Because unless I win the lottery, we are not opening 60 cans a day. But taste wise? Zeus and Zara gave it two paws up, a tail wag, and a “please sir, may we have some more” stare. Just… maybe not 30 cans more.
my dog loves it, and a lot comes in the can!

my dog really likes it! i use this as a topper onto her regular (dry) food and she really enjoys it. very chunky, in a decent amount of gravy, and a lot comes in the 5.5oz can! though i never like to see "meat by-products" in the listed ingredients, that is the only negative for me. overall i would recommend this, it's a great option for soft, chunky wet food.

Unfortunately, my old pup doesn't seem to be a fan of this food. He can be picky at times, so I will give it a few days and I will try it again. Worst case, if he still doesn't like it, I will donate it to the local pet shelter. I know they will definitely appreciate it. The cans are the perfect size for me to use this food as a topper for my mastiff. I certainly couldn't use this as his only source of food given that he is 170#.
Chunks in gravy

The small can size (5.5 Oz) is convenient for using this as a topper and would also make this well suited for small dogs. The size of the chunks is also pretty small, with a good ratio of gravy which my dogs all liked. Having an easy open - pull tab top on the can is very nice.

I have a 3 year old husky who just wouldnt put weight on and wouldnt eat much food. We started feeding him this and he has finally started eating all his food and gained some weight. It did cause any stomach upsets which is always a plus with him.

I have been feeding 1/2 a can to my four dogs this week with their dinner. I substituted 1 cup dry kibble for 1/2 can of this food. It does have a pretty strong odor that I'm not a fan of but the dogs go nuts over. With two of our dogs that are on a sensitive stomach and skin food, we did notice that they do have pretty bad gas about two hours after eating this. The other two don't have any issus.

Our dogs seem to like this canned food. We use it as a food topper, at dinnertime, and their plates are licked clean! (We have 4 dogs of carrying sizes and tastes, so that's an endorsement in itself!) The quality looks good. My only wish is there would be more healthy vegetables along with the meat bits.
Not a good choice
I chose this thinking it would be a good kibble topper for my aging dog with cancer. The ingredient list is long and questionable. We opted to try one can - the
I chose this thinking it would be a good kibble topper for my aging dog with cancer. The ingredient list is long and questionable. We opted to try one can - the consistency looks fake and smell was not great. I will need to stick with a product that has much better ingredients.
My dog couldn't eat it fast enough.

Jaxson is by no means a picky eater, but he liked this so much it could easily replace what he eats now. He is on a weight-controlled diet due to health reasons, so I am using this as a topper, but will more than likely switch to this brand in the future.
Yummy meal
I gave this 5 stars as my Yorkie has become very finicky with her eating. I have used this food as a topper which she is now gobbling up. She finishes her meal
I gave this 5 stars as my Yorkie has become very finicky with her eating. I have used this food as a topper which she is now gobbling up. She finishes her meal now within 5-10 min when it use to be 30 min or she wouldn’t eat at all.
