    My dog is pretty anxious and we've started him on CBD, but we also wanted something more consistent. Adaptil helped him settle into our new house more quickly, and he clearly likes his little den area with the plugin nearby.     Price has doubled in the last year. Leaks. Deteriorates plastic.

    I'm a behavioral dog trainer who works with anxiety dogs, as well as board dogs. In general, I've found that Adaptil can possibly be beneficial to some dogs. However, I purchased these 48ml refills for just $11.55 a piece (Chewy's regular price in Dec 2020) less than a year ago, and $8.66 during a sale I'm a behavioral dog trainer who works with anxiety dogs, as well as board dogs. In general, I've found that Adaptil can possibly be beneficial to some dogs. However, I purchased these 48ml refills for just $11.55 a piece (Chewy's regular price in Dec 2020) less than a year ago, and $8.66 during a sale (Dec 28, 2020). The price is now double. I won't be recommending this product to clients anymore or purchasing them, particularly since the science is inconclusive. Other issues are that the diffuser/refill often leaks and if you plug in anything above it, it will soften the plastic of the cord. When it was under $12, it was an easy recommendation for a "can't hurt, might help" situation and the price also helped compensate for the drawbacks with the drips and the plug considerations, but not at the current price. I don't know what CEVA was thinking, other than trying to capitalize on all the Covid-era SA dogs that trainers are seeing. … more
