Feeding Instructions
Feed Pen Pals® PRIME continuously as the sole ration to growing and adult poultry not in layer or meat production and as the sole ration to pigeons. When fed as a scratch grain or treat to birds in production, do not exceed more than 10% of the diet for layers in addition to a complete feed (for example Pen Pals Egg Maker Complete). Provide clean, fresh water at all times.
Start mixing new feed with current feed and increase amount of new feed every day for 7-10 days until you have your flock fully transitioned to the new feed.

I have to be honest, the chicken food looks very impressive lots of different grains, I thought wow they're going to love this , the first couple hand fulls they went crazy only to find out it was the sunflower seeds they were going after then some of the small seeds. Two weeks later, they still won't eat the other grains, so I guess this was a flop for my girls SORRY but the squirrels love it!

This feed is not for poultry in production. I noticed the ingredients are not on the bag. There was no tag, must of came off durning shipping. I like the way the feed looks. Not much corn. Which is good, as I dont like giving my chickens to much corn in the summer. Gets very hot n humid here. My chickens seems to like it. On day three now of using this feed. Any changes I will update my review.

We tried this chicken food for our flock of 3, 2-3 year old hens. I can’t say if they liked anymore or less than any other food we’ve tried. What we noticed is that production a steady 20+ eggs per week and the yolks are darker orange. I will definitely try again and the other mix they offer.
I think mixing will increase the quality eggs!
Fed my chickens just half a scoop at the same time as I filled their daily food bowl. We feed at set times twice a day so they eat pretty quick and clean the bowl
Fed my chickens just half a scoop at the same time as I filled their daily food bowl. We feed at set times twice a day so they eat pretty quick and clean the bowl within about an hr. I wanted to see if they had normal feeding response or if they liked this feed better. Out of 12 chickens 2 ate their normal feed and the other 10 went crazy for this stuff! Reading the levels and such I don't think this is the right feed for our laying hens in top production but will be feeding about half a scoop as a mixture to their meals. I definitely can see the preference and the quality is MUCH better than the scratch grains we get typically!

My Silkies love this food. It has a variety of seeds, protein and greens in it and the quality shows as soon as you open it. It smells wonderful. It took my usually suspicious birds 2 days to five in but they cleaned all of it up. It’s worth the price for me as a treat for them.
