An average 8 - 10 lb cat will eat about 3 cans daily. Adjust as needed for your cat's age and activity. Refrigerate unused portion up to 36 hours. Provide plenty of fresh water.
Gradually transition your pet to any new food over the course of 7-14 days to help avoid the digestive upset that abrupt changes in diet can cause. If your pet tends to be on the sensitive side, it may be best to take a little extra time. 1. Start by feeding your pet a mix of 25% new food and 75% old food for the first few days. 2. Then, increase the amount of new food to about 50% and feed that half-and-half mix for a few days. 3. Proceed to feeding 75% new food/25% old food for the next few days. 4. Complete the transition by feeding just the new food on its own.

I have eight cats, feral cats that I take care of I feed them well and this food was on sale so I bought and out of eight feral cats no one ate it . It’s so gross when you open the can it’s got a jelly inside and the smells is so disgusting. I’ll never buy it again.
i tried contacting Against the Grain but they didn't respond to phone calls or emails when i asked what kind of mackerel they used. I have to assume it is KING mackerel which is VERY high in mercury . buyer beware.
I gave 3 stars because the food looks to be very high quality with actual chunks of fish. However, I can't recommend it because sadly my 6 cats (including a former stray who will eat anything) will only eat the jell in the can. I tried mixing the jell into the fish but the "mushing" caused them to completely reject it. How any cat could reject a sardine and mackerel repast with nice chunks of fish beats me. Thanks
This food is semi-hard, kind of dry and gelled. I have to spend time trying to smash it into pieces so the cat will eat it. She likes the other Against the Grain canned food, but not this one. If it was moister, not gelled and in smaller bites, she might like it.
I'm at my wit's end my Cat doesn't like this food either,But this time I don't really blame her its covered in this jelly stuff and had very little meat.Cant find anything she will eat. been making her my own recipe, but I know she isn't getting the vitamins and the nutrition that she needs. Thanks Chewy for all the help...Iams done away with the tempt me tuna and Mackerel and the sardines and it has really messed things up..
I have four indoor cats and a small colony of ferrals outside. The indoor cats are interested, but they won't eat it. I've tried slowly integrating it into their diet, but it's a no-go. The outdoor cats will eat whatever I give them, but this is too expensive to give to the outdoor cats
As Iams discontinued their sardine and mackerel, which my cats adored, i decided to try this one for my cats. Eek! Not a thing like Iams, this one is just a "glop" coming out of the can. Did not look appealing, but i thought i would give to my cats to try - NO DEAL, they said! Also tried heating it a bit, and chopping it, as it looks like congealed fat with chunks. Other cats may like this catfood, but mine did not go for it at all! Considering the cost, I was disappointed in this product.
I usually buy against the grain tuna with aubergine and sea bass which my kitties love but chewy is apparently out for a long time, so I ordered this one. My cats won’t touch it. Guess they don’t care for the jelly substance on and around the food. Not sure, maybe they’re just too finicky
The gang really liked the sardines and mackerel. They thought it was ship shape.
Weruva changed there ingredients and now my girl cat won't eat anymore, I've tried so many different foods and spent so much money trying to make her happy. Unfortunately it's the only way to find the right one. This is the right one!!!
