I was happy with this food until I realized, after doing lots of pet food research, that sodium selenite is considered a toxic inorganic compound and is on the dirty dozen of things that shouldn’t be in pet food. I would revisit this food if it were reformulated and more care was given to considering an animals whole health.

Bought this for my grandkitties since they like the Tuna, Duck & Mango flavor (very popular, on backorder alot). I've never had much luck finding a chicken that most cats will eat, or finding a chicken that's tender is even more difficult. I Found It! It's so tender, and the cats all love it. There's not a morsel left. I'm impressed with Against The Grains Canned Foods for Cats. Bought the Tuna with Tomato (very popular, on backorder alot) and they gobbled that up as well. It's Very Nutritious which makes me feel good that I'm helping them stay healthy. Highly Recommend!

Mostly Good but Inconsistent Batches

This is my male cat's fave food WHEN the original recipe is adhered to. I say this because batches tend to be inconsistent depending, I suppose, on what the manufacturer

This is my male cat's fave food WHEN the original recipe is adhered to. I say this because batches tend to be inconsistent depending, I suppose, on what the manufacturer happens to be able to source at the time. What I've noticed is that when white or lighter meat is used, my cat gobbles it up. When it's darker, however, he either tries to bury it or, if I'm lucky, will eat it most of it rather than starve LOL. This is not Chewy's fault; they're great. I just wish there were a way to be able to see which version I'm going to get before it arrives.

Expired Already When it Arrived

This food was already expired when it arrived. I gave it to my cats and neither one of my girls would try it. I’m not sure if it was old or they were being picky

Ingredients wrong - contains palm oil

My cat has a bad reaction to palm oil - vomiting & itching. Found out by trial & error and have been so careful ever since. The ingredients on the app says Sunflower

My senior cat didn't touch this. I got this for him because of ongoing lack of appetite after a bad experience with Fancy Feast (chronic diarrhea), but he just hasn't been the same gobbler. Caveat, the first time I got this flavor, even though he's had this brand before, I thought it'd be alright. Lots of Against the Grain products appear to be out of stock so I was just happy to be able to get this while it was available. The texture and quality looked appealing, apparently not for my cat crew.

My kitty gobbles this flavor down. I wasn't sure how she'd feel about the berry, but we tried 5 flavors of this brand so far and this one has been her favorite

My kitty gobbles this flavor down. I wasn't sure how she'd feel about the berry, but we tried 5 flavors of this brand so far and this one has been her favorite. Will definitely be re-purchasing (and trying some more flavors from this brand as well). I also love how this food is low in carbs and high protein. My cat is a bit of a chunker and this food is perfect for her special diet.
