Would this be okay for chickens?

This cat house has been designed specifically for cats and is not intended for chickens.

What kind of tools are needed to put this together?

This cat house is easy to put together. We recommend 2 people and 45 minutes. You would need a screwdriver. It will come flat packed with a sufficient pictorial manual. Screws are in marked plastic bags. Panels are stamped and come ready to be screwed together. Many have dowel rods that fit nicely into pre-drilled holes.

Doesn't last longer than a year

We purchased directly from Aivituvin and it arrived fine and I was able to assemble in a few hours. Out cats absolutely LOVE it! But that's where the fun stops

We purchased directly from Aivituvin and it arrived fine and I was able to assemble in a few hours. Out cats absolutely LOVE it! But that's where the fun stops. We've had it for 8-9 months and the metal net material began rusting a few months after installation. Now, one of the metal net panels has rusted so much that it will need to replaced because a hole is about to form, making the entire $700 purchase useless (not even a year old). I reached out to Aivituvin and they responded within a couple hours: "Well received your below mail. We are sorry that we do not have replacement parts in stock for selling now. Pls kindly understand! Contact me if you have any problems. Thanks!" This leads me to believe that this item doesn't have a warranty at all AND the company doesn't stand behind their product. We will be purchasing some metal netting and make the repairs ourselves until the wood is no longer able to support the structure. When it's time to replace, we WILL be looking at other options... If you are okay with purchasing this for about a year's use, it works. But don't expect this to last longer without extra cost, time and maintenance.
