products have been treated with a non-hazardous, water-based painting, which provides initial protection from weather conditions, but the product should be treated regularly if used outside. Wood dries out when not maintained and can become cracked, warp or become unsightly. For this reason, you should thoroughly clean and treat your pets hutch regularly. Make sure to use wood cleaning products and varnish that are animal-safe. Find a place that is as sheltered as possible to avoid wear and tear from the weather. We suggest you can paint the hutch again after half a year to extend the service time.

My cat is obsessed with this. He is very curious and loves looking out to watch the world go by. We “attach” it to our sliding door to our patio so he can walk in and outside freely. He gives us the signal that he wants to go out almost every day. It’s such an easy way to give him outdoor enrichment without worrying that we need to constantly watch him
It comes with clear instructions, well-marked parts and all the hardware needed. I did use my own power tools to speed up assembly. It does have a strong odor at first so if you plan to use it inside at all you would want to let it outgas for a few days. I modified mine to allow easier access to the cat window on the outside of our house, which was easily done. I might buy another one to double the capacity for my kitties in a few months. For reference we have a 15 pound F1 Savannah cat that enjoys this thing like an outdoor cat tree.
Tl;Dr: fantastic product that was produced with the consumer building it in mind I had been looking at catios for some time...do I build my own from IKEA furniture and instructions online? Do I pay a professional to build one? Do I buy a standalone and hope for the best? After about a year of debate and doing more research, I decided to do a standalone. There are many out there and most are reviewed pretty poorly. I found some other websites that offered them, but couldn't find much about the products outside of the website they were on. I came across this one on a different website and it had promising reviews, albeit only 4. I saw Chewy sold it, so I decided to bite the bullet and try it. It took a little bit to arrive, but when it did there was minimal damage to the box and it was well packed. Each piece had a paper layer and there was some styrofoam but not near the amount most companies use (which I'm honestly okay with, the paper worked great). There's a few spots that need to be sandpapered where it splintered at the edge, but nothing life altering. It took awhile to establish which pieces were which. I, of course, didn't notice that it was printed in red ink on each piece (see picture) until after I started marking them with sharpie. But, I was pleased when I noticed it because I wasn't sure I had been correct on two of the pieces. The assembly started and from there I had no issues. I highly recommend using a drill, it will make the work so much faster, but I imagine a Phillips head screwdriver would work if that's all you have. It'll just take some muscle power. The holes are pretty easy to align and drill the screws into. It feels sturdy and the roof is heavy and angled, which I appreciated. The wheels are perfect. I put this together inside and wheeled it outside, but I did not measure my back door and it didn't fit, so I had to go through the front and around to the back, which was cumbersome but could have easily been done with two people. So, I recommend you measure the doorway if you plan to do the same. Instructions are clear and helpful, but I wish the pieces had been labeled more brightly. Otherwise, I have no complaints. This was a great buy for the price! If something changes, I'll edit this review.
The panels were not all marked per the instructions. The wood will not last outdoors. I had to use Liquid Nails in addition to the supplied screws to make it stronger. Too loose with just the screws. Too expensive for the quality!
