We purchased this house for one of the ferals that lives in the neighborhood. We already have five cats indoors, and are unable to bring her inside. One day when we threw a box out she had made a bed from it, and she deserves more than just a cardboard box for a home. We were concerned that she would not like it especially after we threw her box away. After some coaxing with a churu cat treat, she sleeps on her porch as well as the roof of the house. We haven’t seen her go inside of it yet, but it it’s summer here and quite hot. Once the weather gets colder we are hoping she takes advantage of all the space inside of it. At that we will install the thermal lining which we decided to leave out since it’s summer. It does need to be assembled which took a couple of hours. Make sure to follow along with the directions. It is a good quality product and hoping it will survive the cold and snow this winter.

Cute but not packaged well

When I opened the package I found at least 4-5 broken boards. not enough packaging to ship that way. The carriers are not that gentle. The box wasn't damaged badly

When I opened the package I found at least 4-5 broken boards. not enough packaging to ship that way. The carriers are not that gentle. The box wasn't damaged badly but inside, even with the foam the boards got cracked. It's cute but it will have to air for a while. The smell of the insulation is strong and my cats don't like going in yet. I am hoping that the smell will die down and my cats will be willing to use it, especially when it gets cold. Quality could be better.

The stray cats will not use it. I erroneously assumed it would have a floor-level escape one-way escape door because all well-made houses for feral cats have them. It’s a given. Feral cats as well as many pet cats will not use an outdoor shelter which does not have an emergency exit because they fear being trapped by a predator. This was an expensive mistake on my part. I should not have assumed Chewy would sell an item inappropriately made for it’s advertised use.

I got nervous about the quality of the food. There were quite a few shards and some cracking in places. The small rectangular side steps that weren't even half a foot by half a foot got wet from a sprinkler and sagged in the middle. One split while I was screwing it in. I had already fetched some wood glue to try and seal up the screw holes in the wood as well as stabilize a few of the sections. The cushions and hinged roof is a great addition to this kind of structure. I am glad I bought it but I have prepared myself to the idea that I'll have to replace it - possibly after two winters.

I ordered this for a friend who cares for stray cats on her deck. She was so concerned about the cats staying warm this winter. The house was easy to put together using a power drill. It is well made and should hold up to rain and snow. The lower room is 23"x25" and would hold at least two cats. The upper area is smaller at 9" x 16" but could hold one cat comfortably. The "balcony" adds a cute touch and her cats love it.

Worst quality and most expensive cat house I’ve ever purchased

It is poorly made. Plain and simple. I could see this house being reasonable if it was $50 at the most. Thin wood, and just overall not good quality at all. Even after it is all the way assembled the house is still very flimsy feeling. The “steps” for the cat to get to the second level porch area bow the wall of the house to the point I expect them to break off within a week.
