Is this organic hay or was it treated with pesticides in the growing process? Thanks!

Answer by Chewy • Aug 31, 2020
Alfalfa King hay is totally natural although not strictly organic. We never use pesticides or artificial colors. We do use some treatments (sparingly) on the field from time to time.

is this hay shred or in long strands?

Answer by Chewy • Aug 31, 2020
This food features double compressed, long strands of hay.

Mostly Dust

I don't normally buy this brand and will not buy more. It was mostly dust. The only creature interested in this is the worms after I sprinkle it on the ground

Waste of money!

It is nothing but dust, can't give it to my piggies, as it had me coughing on the dust trying to get it out. Company should make good on this. Don't buy!

This alfalfa looks greener than other alfalfa products. My rabbits don't seem to have an opinion - they like all alfalfa. I've seen several reviews for ALL alfalfa products that complain that the product is too "dusty." Well, this is just the nature of Alfalfa, I'm afraid. My rabbits love it - as a treat - and they pick it up like two little vacuum cleaners. It's been one of their main treats for almost 8 years now. Alfalfa is NOT bedding or nesting hay for rabbits. It's a TREAT. Buy Timothy or Orchard grass should be your rabbit's staple. This is my first time buying this brand, there is nothing wrong with this product.

I was very disappointed in this product. The majority of the bag is fine powder of the hay which the rabbits just scatter everywhere and make a mess. There is very little hay stalks for the rabbits to munch on and nest in. I would not recommend this product. Sorry. .
