Feeding Instructions

|---|---|
| 8 lb | 3 cans |
Adjust amount based on cat's activity level.
Gradually transition your pet to any new food over the course of 7-14 days to help avoid the digestive upset that abrupt changes in diet can cause. If your pet tends to be on the sensitive side, it may be best to take a little extra time.
Start by feeding your pet a mix of 25% new food and 75% old food for the first few days.
Then, increase the amount of new food to about 50% and feed that half-and-half mix for a few days.
Proceed to feeding 75% new food/25% old food for the next few days.
Complete the transition by feeding just the new food on its own.

I have tried several varieties of this brand, and so far it was liked more often than not (and then if they didn't want the first can they usually decided to eat the second after we gave it a little time.) This one was a big no from the kitties though, and I didn't like the look of it either. There was one big flake of real tuna on top and a lot of congealed grease/fat mixed into the rest of the dark colored mush. They wouldn't touch the first two cans I gave them, and that means we won't even open the rest. Will see if a friends cats will try it.

I've been using the Almo Nature Classic line of cat foods for a while and been happy with them until recently. The flavors I'd been buying are frequently out of stock and this Tuna and Salmon flavor has been one of the few non-chicken containing wet cat foods from them that has been available and the quality is bottom-of-the-barrel garbage. The amount of food from one can to the next is super inconsistent and for some reason they've dumped a HUGE amount of sunflower seed oil into it, like so much the food is swimming in oil sometimes. My cats can't tolerate all that oil and this food caused them all kinds of GI distress. Avoid this stuff at all costs, plus the other food in this line has seen a huge drop in quality lately.
No one will eat it.
The food was very hard and compact in the can. Did not look fresh but expiration date is 8/26.
