We cleaned our 10x10 chicken coop today and used the Alzoo Coop Refresher. We have 18 hens and a rooster. It can get pretty stinky in the coop at times. First

We cleaned our 10x10 chicken coop today and used the Alzoo Coop Refresher. We have 18 hens and a rooster. It can get pretty stinky in the coop at times. First we cleaned out the old bedding and swept the coop floor(wooden). Then I sprinkled a coating of the Alzoo coop refresher on the floor. It smells really good. Like a pine forest smell. After we put their clean bedding in we sprinkled a little bit more of the powder on top of it. It doesn’t float around in the air. Seems like a very dense powder. Overall we love this product!

I used this in our chicken tractor, a Catawba coop we built years ago. Our spring chicks were ready to go outside. I sprinkled the deodorizer in the coop after we cleaned it out from the last occupation, and then put fresh shavings down over it. It smelled nice when I first put it down, but I honestly don't see any difference between what it would be like if we hadn't used it. I also think the sprinkle holes in the cap should be a little bigger. The bottle I have had holes about like a salt or pepper shaker, and I think you'd want it to be more like an herb bottle so it doesn't take so long to dispense. I will say the cap mechanism is clever. This product might be better for your small box of chicks that you're starting in the house until they're big enough to go outside.

The scent lasts a long time and refreshing of the area is not needed on a daily basis but more like a weekly basis. We were eager to try Alzoo Chicken Coop Deodorizer as every chicken fancier knows that the summer heat can make the coop pretty smelly. I put some in the bedding

We were eager to try Alzoo Chicken Coop Deodorizer as every chicken fancier knows that the summer heat can make the coop pretty smelly. I put some in the bedding of my nesting boxes, as these areas can get damp and disgusting fairly quickly when there are several chicks and mom sharing the space. It seemed to work well and keep the area from attracting flies. I also tried it in the enclosed, heated area I use for raising chicks that don't have the benefit of a broody hen watching over them. There too the Alzoo helped keep the odors to a minimum. My flock free ranges all year round, but during heavy snowstorms or extreme cold, I keep them inside, and I could where Alzoo could help make the coop less stinky in the winter. I would highly recommend this product to those with a small flock--say, five hens--for helping quash odors, but it may not be practical for those with larger flocks.

I normally use a lime deodorizer for the coop. I have to scoop it and dispense over ground. I usually get more on me. The Alzoo coop deodorizer is easy to dispense

The smell is nice, but it smells more like peppermint than pine to me. I have a large are to cover and the bottle was enough to throughly cover it.
