When it comes to housetraining, American Kennel Club’s Dog Training Pads help ease the process by giving your pup a place to relieve himself. The antibacterial pads have a built-in attractant to help encourage your canine companion to use the pad instead of your rug, bed or other furniture in your home. They are highly absorbent with six layers of protection and the quick-drying gel helps eliminate leaks, tracking, and foul odors. In addition to house training puppies, these pads are just as paw-fect for older dogs who may need to stay indoors for an extended period of time. Best of all, they are easy to clean up and come in two counts to suit your needs.

Training Pads are ideal for puppies and dogs that stay indoors for long periods of time. What you should do; Unfold the training pad and place it in a confined area. (Blue plastic side down). It is important to place your puppy or dog on the training pad several times a day in order to get him used it. on the average, a puppy must relieve himself every few hours, based on his age (a 2 month old puppy every 2 hours, a 3 month old every hours etc). If your pet relieves himself somewhere other than the designated spot where the pad is placed, bring him back to the correct spot immediately. Keep in mind that your pet will have to relive himself shortly after a meal and will need to eliminate more frequently during the summer when his water intake is higher. The minute your dog begins to relieve himself on the pad, be sure to use cures like “go potty”. You should use this cue every time that your dog relives himself on the pad so that he associates the phrase with the action of elimination. Every time that your pet used the pad successfully, make sure that you give him a treat and lots of praise. Treating helps your dog to understand that he is doing what you want him to do. Always remember to dispose of soiled pads and replace them as needed. When your pet begins to relieve himself on the pads, on consistent basic, it is time to begin moving the pad closer to the door. Keep moving the pads closer to the door until they are actually outside. At this time, the training process will be complete.

I have a 13 yr old Chihuahua. She has used these since she was a puppy. When the weather is bad, she has 'her room' and this pad, which she is faithful to use. These pads are thick and absorbent. And they are large enough that she can use them more than once.
These pads are my 2nd best that Chewy offers. In my opinion, the BEST are Frisco brand. They are a little heavier and stay in place better, BUT 2nd best at my house is pretty darn good!!
I use these for an elderly cat with incontinence struggles. It's very large and covers her sleeping area in the catio. It's thin so I don't know how it would hold up for dogs but it works for us!
These are not worth the money, they don't hold water let alone dog pee. There is inferior cotton lining and plastic outwear. They are also extra small but are described as X-Large, not big enough for a big dog to land on. Frisco is a much better product. Will not order again.
Great for around cat boxes! I have 3 indoor only cats with 5 large litter boxes. One of my cats is very long and sometimes she doesn’t realize her back half isn’t fully in the box. We put these under/around the cat boxes. It absorbs urine, (including trapping the odor of cat pee), as well as catches the litter than can be tracked out of box or tossed over the high sides. (We also have a cat who is a big digger in the litter). I don’t have any experience using these for dogs, as my dog is an xl breed.
First time and very last time. My little Chihuahua used the AKC potty pads and it went right through to my carpeting. So not a happy camper. Going back to my old brand. I would rather pay a few dollars more to not have the soiled carpeting.
You get what you pay for! I tried these out since the Chewy brand went up in price. What a mistake! These are the worst pads I ever bought. They are light and paper thin. Pee went right through them. Also so thin that every movement moved the pad around and caused accidents. Never again. Do not recommend, do not buy!
These pads are the best! I love the larger size since my Doxie walks around a bit before finding her spot!
I got to the bottom of one stack in this box and EVERY pad I pull out looks like this.... I am not happy.
Excellent for using as pads under litterbox for cat who sprays sides of box and it drips down on floor
