American Natural Premium employs 2 nutritionists, along with another third party nutritionist to consult, to formulate their foods. They participate in feeding trials as well as ensuring their food is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by AAFCO nutrient profiles.

Marlin has been eating ANP original recipe for his meals exclusively for his entire adulthood. He is a 7 year old, large (115 lb) golden lab mix. On this food, he has enjoyed good health, no gas, good poops. I did a lot of research before I chose this brand and formula, and I have been very happy with it.

As a wildlife rehabber I’m painfully aware of what an inadequate diet can do to an animal, so I was frustrated when shopping for my own dogs how often I came across cheap fillers and ingredients that just weren’t appropriate protein sources for the species. But some of the better brands were also wildly expensive and gimmicky, so I was happy when I came across this one. It had what I was looking for, and the company was able to answer all my questions. They clearly put care into their formulation, and it’s one I’m willing to pay for. Both my dogs love this kibble and have done very well on it, with no tummy issues when transitioning. I’ll be using auto ship on this one.

Our previous dog loved this food before she passed. She had sensitive tummy and we used the sensitive formula from this brand. She absolutely loved it and we used it as treats as well since her stomach couldn't handle a lot. We now use the original recipe for our new 1 yr-old rescue. She loves it as well. I love the fact that it's a local family run business and I can trust the ingredients. It feels good.

I switched my dog over to this after the manufacturer of his prior food made a formula change without notice (no bag change, etc) and condition was changing on my dogs. I had been looking for a solution and found American Natural Premium. I feed the Original to my 5 year old AHT and the Sensitive to my 15 year old AHT. Both love it and are thriving. Only gave 4 stars because I wish it had a higher kcal, but it balances out being a little cheaper on the pocketbook. Definitely worth a look if you want pea free and no fractionated carbs.

Not sold within 100 miles

Puppy came home on this food and I was unable to find it at any local pet stores. Must be a 'regional food"??? Found it on Chewy and it was delivered fast enough
