The following daily feeding recommendations show a suggested amount of food based upon the age and weight of your puppy/dog. Because many factors such as breed, activity level, environment and more can influence the amount of food your dog/puppy requires, American Natural Premium suggests that you adjust your feeding amounts to maintain a healthy body condition. To ensure your dog's good health, see your veterinarian regularly. Gestating and lactating femals may require 2-4 times more food and spayed or neutered dogs may require less food.

When switching to an American Natural Premium Formula, a gradual transition is recommended, but not required. Start by adding a small amount of American Natural Premium pet food to your dog's current diet while reducing the amount of the old diet. Increase the amount of American Natural Premium for 7 - 10 days until the transition is complete. For sensitive dogs, we recommend a 10-14 day transition.
This particular flavor of this brand dog food made both my dogs sick. One dog ended up having a huge messy accident in his crate overnight twice before I realized it could be the food. So I didn’t feed it to him and just fed it to my other dog. Immediately after eating it tonight she threw up this extremely mucousy green and white vomit and might’ve even had some diarrhea, but I couldn’t really determine if it was that or throw up. She then walked around with mucousy drool from her mouth. The other flavor didn’t do this, but there’s no way I’ll buy this brand again. And it was expensive! What a waste of money. Had to throw the rest away. I won’t even donate it. Buy at your own risk.
My dog is hesitant to try new foods, but she immediately took to this food and is always excited to eat it. I love that the ingredients are much better than other brands. Her coat is very nice and smooth.
After learning of the importance of Rotating even the best kibble, I searched for another brand comparable to my usual Wysong. This is the Only one equal or better. No legumes, no GMOs, no soy, good ratios, no recall, small US maker, reasonable price. Winner!
We have been feeding pure raw, but have found it can be hard to travel with. We have a dog with a flaxseed allergy, and that has been a struggle to find a kibble that does not include flaxseed. My dog loves this food, and happily eats it. PLEASE don't change this formula....flaxseed free is so hard to come by!!
After only 4 months. It’s falling apart already. This is the worst spot. There are other areas similar. Scratching post not made for cats to scratch on, I guess
My 2 yr. old black Labrador is my child, so when it came to switching foods, I wanted nothing but the best. After two weeks of constant researching, this dog food seemed the best choice. It is filled with great, healthy ingredients. No recalls. My dog has always been one to clean his plate, but 2/3 of the way done and he will leave some for later because he is just that full. I would recommend this brand to anyone!
Bought this to mix with the "original recipe" (green bag) as one dog started getting finicky. Wow, that did the trick. Dogs loved the addition. The kibble is bigger than original recipe, roughly twice the size. But our small dogs are not having any trouble with that.
We have bullies and are always trying to get ahead of stomach sensitivity and allergies. Also with all the information on DCM I wanted to be sure to find food that would be an issue there. No peas or potato in this food either. Well Marble loves the taste, hasn’t been throwing up, and seems far let congested. She is going poop more, but it’s probably because she is actually eating now.
This food is among the top. I love that it's free from crap ingredients/fillers that alot of the other foods are filed with. Great protein sources and high %. My dogs love this food, and I feel good about feeding it. I do feed raw in conjunction. Give them a try.
In light of the heart conditions plaging dogs from legumes in their food, we changed to this brand, due to the absence of soy, legumes, or white potatoes: and it's high protein percentage. Our dog is enjoying it, so I'm more than pleased. Would recommend.
