Great Veggie Topper for My Dogs

I’ve been using the Ami Green Lentils & Broccoli wet dog food as a topper, and it’s been a nice addition to my dogs’ meals. They really enjoy it, and I haven’t noticed any digestive issues at all. My dogs are already used to eating fresh veggies like carrots and broccoli, so this fits right into their routine and gives them an extra boost of vegetables. The pull‑top can is easy to open, and the food itself has a mild smell—not overwhelming like some wet foods can be. My only complaint is that it’s a bit on the pricey side, but overall it’s been a good supplement to their regular diet.

To be blunt I wanted to hate this food. As a born and raised midwestern poor, we are conditioned to turn out nose up at vegetarian options especially when it come to our animals. A protein packed veggie food for dogs? Preposterous! Except this food is good, like really good guys. The cans are absolutely packed to the brim, the smell is neutral, a little goes a long way (I use it as a topper) AND my dogs LOVE it! Now of course one of my dogs is a garbage can that would eat cardboard and call it gourmet but our new guy is a picky boy. We added this food as a mix in (2 tablespoons to 2 cups of dry) This finicky disaster of a dog ATE EVERYTHING. We've been using it for 4 days now 2x a day and he has eaten great! I can pronounce everything on the can, can see everything that went into making it, and my dogs poops have been normal since starting it! 10/10

Even before I offered my two older mini dachshunds their dishes, I was pleased to see that there is a very short list of healthy products used in Ami (One Planet) wet dog food: Lentils, zucchinis, broccoli, some rice and sunflower oil, parsley and pea product, some minerals. Clean eating for my senior pups which I appreciate as the almost 16 year old fellow can react negatively to certain foods. The two of them waited patiently for their dinner, and set to work. Josie, my 7 year old gobbled it up, Gus took his time, sniffing and tasting, but also eventually licked his dish clean. No dire effects from this new food. Bathroom time outside was perfect, no problems. This new wet food will be part of our routine now as it can be trusted not to cause any upset tummies. And the pups liked it. I especially recommend it because of the short list of healthy ingredients that I include in my healthy way of life. This is a keeper.

I have 6 dogs. 2 Shiba Inu’s and 4 doodle mixes. All my dogs liked this. We would put a spoonful or two in with their dry kibble and they all ate it with no hesitation

The canned food has no foul odor and it looks kinda like refried beans but it’s lentils and broccoli. It says you can use it as a side dish or as a complete meal. I found the labeling on the can difficult to read. It’s in many different languages and small print. Moisture content is 74%, crude protien is 6%. Label said it’s made in Austria. Plant based protien can be advantages for some dogs and the fact that it’s tasty should make you feel good about feeding it. I would recommend this to my dog friends in NJ to feed their dogs. Thank you Chewy for always offering new alternatives to feeding our animals.

Our dog is on mixed diet (mostly qet food, but sometimes we add a bit of dry food). Since she is not into vegetables and fruits much I was looking to add extra into her diet. I've tried AMI green ( lentils and broccoli) can and surprisingly my picky dog loves it. I just add a small scoop into her dood mixing well - and her bowl is squeaky clean adter each meal.

I’ll be 100% honest. I would’ve have never guessed my dogs would’ve like this. I probably wouldn’t have ever chosen or bothered to look at this on a regular day. I mean veggies such as broccoli? Our dogs (and I) normally choose the beef, chicken, turkey, etc. When I tell you, they gobbled this up - I MEAN THEY GOBBLED THIS UP IN SECONDS! They loved it and the dogs checked each other’s bowls after they were finished with their own like “hey you got any left overs in your bowl?”. It’s a great topper as well as to be used for a full meal. I love the healthy ingredients!

I add a few spoonfuls to his usual kibble, and he dives right in and licks the bowl clean. I think Ami vegan dog food is a novel idea and a handy, tasty source of beneficial nutrients to supplement his diet.
