Is there a way to tell if you are getting close to the quick? Have an anxious dog who never forgot the one time I hit it :(

Answer by ChewyApr 09, 2020
In white nails, the cut surface will turn pink just before reaching the quick. This is where you should stop. In black nails, initially, the cut surface will show a white or gray center, but as you get closer to the quick, this center will turn black and eventually pink immediately before reaching the quick. Take of just a tiny bit of nail at a time to see this change, and stop when the cut surface shows a solid black center.

What’s the strength of force? Will it work for large dogs with tougher, stronger, thicker nails?

Answer by ChewySep 30, 2019
The Andis Cordless Dog & Cat Nail Grinder features 6 speeds ranging from 7,000-18,000 RPM.

Is the battery rechargeable?

Answer by ChewyAug 26, 2019
The battery is rechargeable.

Where is this product manufactured? None seem to be made in USA... best I’ve found is Dremel brand made in Mexico.

I work at a pet shop,so I am using this more than once aday. I use it like 5-7 times a day. If you have good lighting this is the one for you, but if you are like my company there are some dark areas and it is hard to do the nails there.

not bad but...

I tried this (it's okay) but I prefer the Dremel - although they discontinued the slim handheld that I really like, and the charger for the battery stopped charging

I tried this (it's okay) but I prefer the Dremel - although they discontinued the slim handheld that I really like, and the charger for the battery stopped charging. May have been the Dremel grinder itself but after two months of talking to the Sharpening company who sold it to me, and Dremel, looks like I am out of luck. I will get back to this Andis and give it another shot.

Perfect nail grinder

Love the nail grinder. One of my coworkers has one and loved it. Charge holds all day. Strong enough for the toughest nails. Light and super quiet.

File heads don’t stay on the tips.

The file heads don’t fit the tips. I have to buy other tips to put on it. Everytime I file my animals nails, the file tube flies off (not the actual tip attachment)

The file heads don’t fit the tips. I have to buy other tips to put on it. Everytime I file my animals nails, the file tube flies off (not the actual tip attachment). So then I have to stop and put it back on and keep moving it with my finger in between grinding.

Charger is terrible

Bought this because it fits my really awesome Whitman’s Diamagroove tip. Andis dremel doesn’t hold charge very long so you can only do nails on a couple dogs before

Bought this because it fits my really awesome Whitman’s Diamagroove tip. Andis dremel doesn’t hold charge very long so you can only do nails on a couple dogs before recharging. The port on the charger seems defective and doesn’t connect together well. Really cheap cord & port. I’m returning. Not worth it. Buy a different brand.

Worked great till Broke

This dremel worked great at first then less then 2 months of having it the charge port broke off and fell into the dremel itself. I liked it but not worth the money

Kinda annoying

I used mine for about 8 days (also its been slow so not many dogs per day) and the charging port just disconnected and was loose inside the tool. Don't know how

I used mine for about 8 days (also its been slow so not many dogs per day) and the charging port just disconnected and was loose inside the tool. Don't know how to fix it but it was obviously not made well. I never dropped it. Also hair seems to get stuck in the tool more than the similar dremel brand ones. Overall annoyed with another cheaply made andis product.
