What is the proper way to trim a Golden Retriever tail? My dog's tail doesn't seem to look as full as it should.
Andis® products are among the best cutting, smoothest running and most durable found anywhere in the world. Each utilizes expertly developed motor technology designed to complement the application, ensuring maximum performance.
The breed standard for Golden Retriever suggest that the tailbones should extend to, but not past, the hock bone. So when your dog's tail is trimmed, stand your dog properly and comb all of the tailcoat towards the tip and hold the tail down. Trim off the hair (bluntly with thinning shears) that extends past the hock. Now here is a good trick, if the tail bone extends past the hock, trim the coat to the end of the tailbone and if the tail bone is to short, trim the coat off at the hock you can also think of it as a longer bodied dog gets a shorter tail and a short bodied dog gets a longer tail. Once you have trimmed to desired length, use your thinning shears to round out the tip of the tail for a softer curve into the tail. Lastly, pull the tail out, thin out the underside of the base of the tail and comb down and neaten any long scragglies hanging down from the flag of the tail still keeping in mind the roundness of the tail.
What's the best way to rake out the Lagatto Romagnolo coat?
This magnificent and rare breed has a Rustic Coat. Even if they are a pet, Rustic coats require a more specialized care. Most pet owners do not want their dogs shaved down every time they come in for a groom. In this dog’s case, that is what was happening and you can see the amount of lint I removed from her coat after her first visit. The darker coats or thinner coats can be worked in 3 week increments meaning after this initial rake out and haircut visit she will start coming in every 3 weeks to alternate a rake out and bath versus the same in addition to a haircut. The lighter coats tend to produce more undercoat and mat up faster. They might require an every 1-3 week maintenance program depending on the thickness of the coat.
1-Year Warranty.

Works wonders on curly goldendoodle fur!
By bennidonut on Mar 16, 2021
I almost exclusively use this for my Mini Goldendoodle puppy. He has curly fur that tends to need a brushing every couple days, and this works really well to work through any tangles all the way to the skin. Just be gentle and treat use like you would brush long human hair: start at the ends, then work your way closer to the skin. My pup looks like a well-groomed floof ball after using this comb. It’s also very sturdy, and I appreciate the finer end to do detail work after the first comb through.

Love this comb
By Spunkypup on Feb 1, 2021
Just got this grooming comb to get our airedale pup use to the feeling of being groomed so it would be easier for us all as she got older. The comb is wonderful! Not only has it combed out loose hair but it's also non-threatening to her. She allows us to comb all parts...including face and were her beard will eventually grow in. She simply chills out next to me while I comb her. Way different reaction than I got with the slicker brush. Eventually we will introduce her to the brush too but as of now, the comb does the trick. It will be great when it's time to trim her too. Love that it's made of steel and will last for a long time. Makes grooming this breeds a lot easier. Thank you !

Not so good
By DiscerningDecider on Jan 24, 2021
The teeth on this comb are so polished and slick that there is no resistance to my cat’s fur. Basically, it doesn’t accomplish anything by using it. I’ll buy another black comb b6 Master Groomer because they work really well...even though the teeth started coming out of one o& them after a few years.

Go to grooming tool for any pet with undercoat
By sunnyedog on Jan 10, 2021
Easy to hold and manage comb. Tool is durable will not bend or snap. First pass through coat use the wider spaced teeth holding at an angle. The second pass through, switch to the narrowly spaced teeth. Thins out dead undercoat without cutting or damaging top coat as many stripping tools will. Easy enough to do daily, which is nice bonding time and prevents matting.

Great comb, very large
By Kacy on Mar 26, 2021
This is a good grooming tool. Smooth teeth and easy to hold. A bit too large for my cockapoo but we like it for back massage anyway.

Husky Approved
By Marianna on Jan 11, 2021
This comb works well for going in after an undercoat rake when I didn't get as much hair out as I would have liked but don't want to give my dog brush burn from overdoing it with the rake. Tines are decently sturdy but can bend with enough force applied. Had it for months, haven't had one snap off yet.

Must have in cat grooming
By Steve on Jan 6, 2021
I noticed my cat veterinarian used this comb thus decided to get one at Chewy.com and add it to the grooming of my cat. This comb works wonders in getting out hair tangles and in general grooming.

Not just for dogs
By SincerelyFromMe on Oct 15, 2020
During a recent move to a new home, I wasn't able to comb my long-haired cat as much as he needs. Actually, I couldn't find his comb and then I noticed a LOT of knots and short of cutting his beautiful coat, I needed to get a good qualtiy wide tooth comb to work the knots out without hurting him. This comb is wonderful! it's extremely easy to clean and because the teeth are wide enough, it doesn't pull his fur and he stays put and actually enjoys being combed now. It still gets the loose undercoat very well so it does a through job. As a matter of fact, I bought several of these combs and keep them in different rooms for more convenience. I highly recommend this comb.

Doesn't work well on short-hair cat
By Jeth on Mar 30, 2021
It doesn't work on my short-hair cat and it doesn't gather hair at all

Love this!
By Becks on Jan 30, 2021
Great for fluffing and de-tangling. Even my pup doesn’t mind it as much as the other brushes. Recommend for long haired dogs.
