Instructions
Apply directly to the gums of the affect areas of the mouth with a cotton swab or other applicator once or twice daily or as directed by a physician. To avoid product contamination, do not allow dropper tip to contact the animal's mouth. If redness, swelling or discharge occurs, or your animal's condition persists or worsens, discontinue use and consult a veterinarian. Shake well before using. Store in a cool dry place.

Gum Health is Important

I use this as a regular part of my dog's dental routine. Dental care for small dogs should actually be gum care and tooth cleaning. Obviously, clean teeth are required for healthy gums but additional gum support can be provided with this product. When anaerobic bacteria invades the sulcus (just under the gum line) around the base of a tooth, a contributing part of the pathology is the inflammatory response of the gum tissue. Inflammation indicates that the immune system is trying to fight off the infection and that is a good thing but unfortunately, when it comes to periodontal disease, too much of a good thing is a bad thing and the excessive inflammation at the gum line actually accelerates the destruction of these tissues and that makes it easier for the bacteria to penetrate deeper. The ingredients in this product help sooth the inflammation and contrary to the complaints of others that the alcohol is a bad thing, when fighting periodontal bacteria, the alcohol is a plus. Of course, it makes no sense to treat the inflammation without also trying to battle the root cause which is the excess bacteria at the gum line. So, this product must be used in conjunction with a good brushing program. Two other fantastic products specifically for gum tissue health are Maxiguard and Ora-Clens 1-TDC also sold by Chewy. I alternate and apply one of these three gum tonics every day after brushing. These products do not have the potential to be on the VOHC list as that list is only a list of products that fight plaque and tartar.

I haven't used in a while and I am getting it as prevention at the moment but the first time I used It, the gums were inflamed, red not good, the option was surgery but this was enough. Thank you

Alcohol is a No No for furbabies!

And I even tried deluting it in a spray bottle with added water and still intensely strong alcohol smell & taste. I love Chewy but I think Chewy really should look into taking this product off the site. No furbAby should be consuming alcohol in a product.
