Wish I had known that the inside of this capsule is orange, you open it up and sprinkle it on the food, I have a white Lhasa Apso, with long hair. Let's just say he now has orange whiskers, beware if you have a light dog with whiskers. Too early to tell if it is helping or not, but it certainly isn't helping keeping him clean! LOL
The powder is the best I have tried on my dog, you just sprinkle it on the food. The gelcaps are too big & the chewable are to hard & my dog would not eat we tried crushing them but that was hard.
When I first saw the capsule I decided to open it and sprinkle the contents into my dog’s food. But the smell was horrible and my dog couldn’t stand the taste. Luckily my dog will devour anything covered with banana without even chewing it, so I smother the capsule with banana and he does scarf it down. I wish there was a way for the company to make it smaller. He’s medium sized. The pill for small dogs isn’t enough, and if I gave him 2 pills made for small dogs it would be ridiculously expensive. My dog’s eye specialist insists that this is the best supplement for his problem, so the banana route is the best I can do. I hope he continues to take it this way — it’s SO BIG!
I have a dachshund that is blind in one eye which the vet says is a genetic problem. Vet recommended this product. We have been giving our dog this for less than a year and so far our dog's good eye is fine. We put some peanut butter on a spoon, stick the capsule into the peanut butter and slide the peanut butter and capsule into his mouth without any problems.
I expect this is a good product (recommended by our vet) but the smell is bad for both us and our dog. We now have to put garnish on her food for her to eat it (product is sprinkled on her food as directed). Hope they can someday make it better; until then, we'll go back to Omega 3 supplements.
My dog has been diabetic for almost a year. I've been giving her these for 2 months in hopes of slowing down her cataract progression. Her last appointment with her Optometrist was good and we hope this is helping. I open the capsule and mix the powder with her wet dog food. It does smell a little like fish oil, but my girl seems to eat her food without any hesitation. She won't take pills, so being able to open the capsule was such a game changer!
I used to feed her reg capsules. But she refused to take it. I’m glad this product has flavors ate likes. So I just mix the power into her wet food. It does work. A big relief on me. She’s 15 already, but still going strong :)
My dog is an 8 yr old husky who is now diabetic. I got this to protect him from going blind but this product makes my dog hyper with the green tea extract in it. He gets all wound up and it’s hard to get him to relax and after giving it to him in his food it causes him to have reverse sneezing episodes which only happens to him when he’s allergic to something he ingested. I’m going to try the vision bites instead that product does not have green tea in it. I don’t like the green tea extract in this product. My dog does not need the stimulant boost. For his allergic reaction it could be to any ingredient in the capsule I don’t know which one but I’m done with this product.
Hello there, i have been giving my dog these pills for a year. I truly believe that they have kept his vision from getting too much worse. The problem is, there is no way to hide them in his food or disguise them in a pill pocket. He hates them so much that i have to stick them in his throat. i bought the powder in hopes that i could put it on his food. the powder stinks so bad that he won't eat his food and actually it stinks up the whole room. really gross. so... it's back to shoving the capsules down his throat !
I was tired of fighting my dog to take the liquid capsules. This was fabulous ... just sprinkle over his kibble. Just wish there were less expensive options... like bulk purchase
