Feed your herbivorous tropical fish a protein-rich diet scientifically formulated to promote healthy growth and cleaner, clearer water with API Optimal Protein Tropical Greens Flakes for Algae & Plant Eating Fish Food. This complete and balanced diet is ideal for herbivorous fish including Swordtails, Mollies, Guppies and Cichlids. It contains nutritionally-enhanced protein for maximum digestion and produces up to 30% less ammonia. The more nutrients your fish digests, the less waste and ammonia are released, leaving cleaner, clearer water. Plus, it's made with multiple algae species, beet pulp, special plant blend for healthy growth and carotenoids to enhance color. Feed twice a day, and provide only as much as your fish will eat within three minutes.

Key Benefits
  • Flake food formulated with a wide range of natural ingredients to meet the nutritional requirements of algae and plant eating tropical fish.
  • Designed for all types of herbivorous tropical fish, especially Cichlids, and releases up to 30% less ammonia.
  • Enhanced with marigold, carrot and spirulina for vivid, vibrant, colorful fish.
  • Formulated with six species of algae, beet pulp and a blend of plants to provide a high level of dietary fiber, to promote healthy digestive function.
  • Yeast, garlic, vitamins C and E to help support the immune system.

Overfeeding, low palatability, and low quality lead to unconsumed or poorly digested food, which raises the ammonia level in the aquarium, causing cloudy water and even fish death.

this food doesn’t get the attention it deserves!

By community on Oct 26, 2020

Chewy is the only place I have been able to get this food. I have a wide variety of aquatic life. Tetra, platy, guppies, bards, mollies, nerite snails, and even some African dwarf frogs. All at different stages of life. I feed a wide variety of foods to meet everyone’s needs. I always keep froze bloodworms, frozen brine shrimp, and API tropical greens on hand. Those are my staple foods. Everyone loves this API tropical greens! It’s a hit! I love how much healthier and happier my fish started to look after I began using this food. API products really are wonderful.

My MBuna love this food. It doesn't seem to cloud the water and my cichlids beg for it.

My Scat seems to like this food. He gets excited every time I walk by the tank. It seems like he has more energy since I started him on this too.
