Was skeptical
By Lyd515 on Jan 4, 2021
I was a little skeptical, thought I had bought one for my daughter about 3 yrs ago and hers is still working. After reading reviews I didn’t know if I should or shouldn’t but since my daughter had a good experience with it I decided to order one. It worked fine till the 3rd time. It didn’t want to suck the water out. Even my daughter was shocked. Good thing chewy is awesome and customer service is outstanding I called and they sent me another. Will use on my next water change. Hope it works fine. Otherwise I will have to buy a python.

Stick to the normal way
By Nope on Jan 8, 2021
Although it seems like it is a great concept the tubing doesn't stay on and it makes more of a mess. I'd rather throw my back out emptying 5 gallon buckets.

mister customer

I purchased this and it does not drain the water or clean the gravel. I have watched several videos on how to make it work and I have been unsuccessful. It is great for filling the tank.

Just say no
By Jimmy on Jan 11, 2021
The only reason I gave it one star was for the hose. The rest is junk. Valves leaked and didn’t hold. Very poorly made product.

It is a very nice water changer. I would recommend this item to anyone that has a aquarium. The price was fair.

Suction was terrible
By Midgie on Jun 28, 2020
To hard to use and put together. The suction is not what I'm used to at all. Ended up just using the hose itself, but at least it's long enough I don't need a bucket anymore. Regular siphon with a long hose is better than the hook up at the faucet. The water had to be running to get any suction at all. So, it seems like a real waste of water, as well.

You get what you pay for
By bigEwv on May 19, 2020
It's a cheaper version of the python, and if you're on the fence. I would probably recommend just spending up. This gets the job done, but only moderately better than doing buckets. The adapters tend to leak, and don't fit any of my faucets tightly. I wanted to save money, and I did save some money.

Quality of live Upgrade!
By Blah on Apr 30, 2020
For years I have been siphoning by mouth and transporting poopy turtle water via buckets and refilling the tank, a cleaning process that could take up to half an hour... now, I hook up the water changer and relax as I vacuum then refill the tank all at the turn of a valve! P.S. I have a utility sink so I don't worry about the mess going down and the faucet has plenty of pressure to create a good vacuum.

Don’t bother wasting your money
By Steve on Jun 9, 2020
I generally like aqueon products however the quality of this water changer is absolute garbage plastic faucet adapter failed on the first use. Replaced with the python system and the difference speaks for itself.

Much larger than it looks in the picture!
By Mooney720 on Feb 16, 2020
I bought this thinking that having a long drain tube was genius: no more schlepping buckets of fish tank water to the toilet. However, there were a few things that make it not work for me. 1) The whole apparatus is huge! The vacuum end is too large for my wee little 10 gallon tank. Definitely need to have a pretty large tank to use this (20 gal+ at least). 2) the device you add to your sink to start the siphon did not fit any of my faucets. This is problematic because without this device, it's nearly impossible to start a siphon with a 50' hose. I ended up cutting most of the hose off and using it like an old skool tank siphon, which worked ok.
