Does the heater automatically shut off when water is right temperature

This heater does not have a preset temperature. It will keep your tank around 6 to 8 degrees above room-temperature.

Can this be used in an acrylic tank?

How do I know its on? There is no light.

As a precaution, we always recommend using a thermometer to check your water temperature. The unit is equipped with a thermal cut-off safety fuse that will turn the heater off automatically if the unit overheats such as by being left out of the aquarium.

nearly cooked my betta

Apparently this thing has no thermostat and certainly it isn't adjustable. I put it in my betta tank before going to bed on a chilly evening and the next morning

Apparently this thing has no thermostat and certainly it isn't adjustable. I put it in my betta tank before going to bed on a chilly evening and the next morning his water was at 84 degrees. Returning!

Small and practical

Mini Heater a life saver

My house has been pretty cold this season. My furnace is on the blink and new one will take a few weeks. I'm dressing warmer, furry pets have sweaters and heated

My house has been pretty cold this season. My furnace is on the blink and new one will take a few weeks. I'm dressing warmer, furry pets have sweaters and heated beds but my Betta was looking sad, hanging out at the bottom of his 1.5 gal. bowl, not active, loosing color. I put the 5 watt heat in & it made a huge difference. Beautiful Finneas is now swimming around, eating better and loves to lay on his Betta Bed Fish hammock (also from Chewy-best 3 bucks I've spent-feel bad I didn't know about these for my prior Bettas) near the heat source. Make sure to get the correct wattage for the size of the fish aquarium/bowl.
