Since I purchased this light(its been months now)I have never been able to get it to connect to wifi, only works on the Bluetooth connection, which limits the actually function of this light significantly. There is no manual way to turn it on or off without a cellphone which makes it hard for when I am away on vacation. I wish I would use this light to the best of its ability. Ive tried troubleshooting ans called the company (wasnt very helpful). I feel as though I just wasted my money and dont really want to put more money out for a new light.

First off, don’t judge my tank too harshly please. I’ve been battling the dreaded Blackbeard Algae for months and it has been winning. Before adding this light, I pulled almost everything out of the tank for a good scrubbing, and I haven’t finished rearranging the decor just yet….aaand I may have killed have my plants. So, this light is a little short for my 20gl long, but this actually doesn’t bother me because I like being able to arrange my plants according to their lighting needs and/or move the light around if I need to. I also like the ambiance of a partially lit tank. The light has a nice range and the settings are VERY customizable in the app. Yes, it has its own app. Some people (like my daughter) dislike having a separate app for everything, but I happen to like being able to turn off the aquarium light or feed the cats without ever leaving the couch. (I swear I’m not lazy, but when I finally get to sit for a minute I want to stay there.) My only negative note is that there doesn’t appear to be an option to change the color of the lights. The light I was using is a Nicrew C10, and it gives you the option to keep the lights red, blue, green, or white. I don’t find that feature to be terribly important, but some people may. Over all, I think I’m going to really like this setup. Being able to easily program the lighting so that there is only a brief period of full sun a day is going to be helpful in my fight against Blackbeard.

This is actually a rather nice light. I really like the design, the app works well, however the light itself refuses to stay connected to wifi, making the light impossible to use. There is no actual switch on the light, everything is controlled with the app, so if it's not connected, you can't even turn it on. The bluetooth works, but you can't schedule on/off with it, which was the point of getting this light. Really disappointed.

I am so impressed with the Aqueon Smart LED light. I struggled to find something to fit my 10 gallon tank well and when I received this, I did worry it would not work. BUT, it fits amazingly well. I love the WiFI connection to my phone and the ability to create light schedules. The light is so much brighter than a previous light I was using which I think should benefit my live plants. My tank looks so beautiful. Very worth the purchase!

The lights have a long spectrum of possibilities and i have enjoyed creating different "moods" for the tank with atmospheric lighting. A small algae boom occured after leaving the lights on overlong, which was user error, but the good news is that it will be great for more intentional plant growth.
