How many watts will i need for a 75 gallon tank?

Answer by ChewyMar 26, 2019
The wattage needed will depend on how many degrees you need to increase above room temperature (68-72 degrees fahrenheit). For increasing a 75 gallon aquarium 5-10 degrees fahrenheit, choose the 200 watt heater. If increasing the 75 gallon aquarium by 15 degrees fahrenheit, choose the 300 watt heater. Please see the image attached for the Heater Guidelines.

Is this heater good for red eared sliders? Also up to what degree does heater go up to cuz I'm looking for heater that can go up to 88-92 degrees. Also what does the 3rd bullet point mean when it says "complete control of aquatic climate within a 1-degree difference"?

Answer by ChewyJan 22, 2020
This Pro Heater wouldn't be suitable for a red eared slider turtle as they need a temperature gradient (95°F for the warm end/basking area and 75°F for the cool end/water). This heater has a precise temperature dial from 68-88°F and allows for complete control of aquatic climate within a 1-degree difference. This 1-degree difference is added for safety and precision.

will this work for a 50 gallon garden pond in a pennsylvania winter?

Answer by ChewyAug 14, 2019
This heater should not be installed or stored where it will be exposed to weather or to temperatures below freezing.

how long is the 300watt and can you put it horizontal

Answer by ChewyMar 28, 2019
This heater can be placed vertically or horizontally. The 300 watt heater is 3.5 x 1.5 x 15.25 inches.

Luck is a must with aquarium heaters

So like my title says it’s about luck with these things. Sometimes you’ll get faulty ones that don’t work at all or that will die quick in less than a year heck

So like my title says it’s about luck with these things. Sometimes you’ll get faulty ones that don’t work at all or that will die quick in less than a year heck sometimes after like 2 months. So far so good needed a new one for my turtle. Even though in the wild she would be use to like 30 to 40 degree water. Since she from like areas like Mississippi and few other states on the east coast. I still want her water to be warm least like 79 degrees to 81. Especially on cold mornings or days.

Doesn't work or fails quickly

The old Aqueon Pro with the blue top instead of the new, clear one worked well for several years. One broke after 4 and the other is still going after 6 years. But

The old Aqueon Pro with the blue top instead of the new, clear one worked well for several years. One broke after 4 and the other is still going after 6 years. But the new Aqueon Pros have all been junk. I've tried 5 different ones, and all of them have either failed to heat to the set temperature (usually cold by a few degrees) or they failed quicker than any other brand including cheap, generic brands. I'm going to stick with my Eheims

Right on spot

This brought my temp up perfectly within a short amount of time. Very straight forward and seems to be very well made. This was bought to replace a heater that quit

This brought my temp up perfectly within a short amount of time. Very straight forward and seems to be very well made. This was bought to replace a heater that quit after a month. The temporary one just couldn't maintain the temp but this one went right to work. Very happy. I plan on getting another to have for emergencies.

Great aquarium heater!

I use these heaters in my fish tanks that have aggressive fish because they can bang into them and the heaters are safe and don’t break!

Disappointed

Heater looks great, worked well for almost a month and then shorted out, shocked me when I touched the water and killed 2 fish that lived near it. To late to return

Heater looks great, worked well for almost a month and then shorted out, shocked me when I touched the water and killed 2 fish that lived near it. To late to return so I replaced it with an Ehiem, a trusted product. I wish I would have returned it but I threw away all the boxes.

Defective heater

When I went to bed my Bettas tank was 80 degrees. When I woke up the next morning his tank was 75 degrees. The red indicator light was on but it wasn't heated up

When I went to bed my Bettas tank was 80 degrees. When I woke up the next morning his tank was 75 degrees. The red indicator light was on but it wasn't heated up. I have the older version of this heater and it hasn't failed me in 2 years. This new "Pro" didn't make it 24 hours. This is why you should always keep a thermostat in your fish tank because heaters fail all the time. My poor Betta had a 5 degree temperature drop in a short period of time so I hope he doesn't get sick. Chewy has great customer service and refunded my payment so I can put it towards another heater. Thank you Chewy for standing by your products!
