A The essential oils in the product make up the tiniest portion of the fragrance. The fragrance alone, in the percentage of the 18oz. product weight, is less than 1% of the 18oz. In other words, the essential oils in the Ark and Gray Muzzle rinseless-shampoos represent a miniscule fraction of the actual product. Thus the amount of the essential oils that the cat is being exposed to is even less. As the directions state, the animal is not to be saturated in the product. The product is designed to help freshen the animal’s coat and provide the least amount of stress to the animal. In reality, the scent has nothing to do with the cleaning. It is just so that the animal smells nice after you use this product and it pleases the human. We chose this fragrance because of its overwhelming success and universal appeal to men and women. Everyone loved it in our Don’t Shed On Me!, so we wanted to use it for our rinseless-shampoos. We have discussed this issue with Dr. Nancy Scanlan, DVM, Executive Director of the AHVM. and she assures us that at these percentages Don’t Worry Don’t Rinse Me! and No Shampoo! Shampoo are perfectly safe products for both cats and dogs.
