The hammock has wide wooden edges so what is the size of just the soft fabric part? I have adult cats and the pictures shown are of young kittens using the hammock.

I had trouble setting it up because the screws were not quite long enough sometimes. But a very helpful Chewy employee named Josie helped me work it out.

They love it

Our two kittens love this thing.. One will hang out in the cubby while the other is up in the hammock. It looks nice, too!

Esthetically pleasing

I ordered this cat tree for several reasons. 1) I have a large cat and it's hard to find a sturdy one for cats at or over 20lbs - definitely holds my large cat 2)

I ordered this cat tree for several reasons. 1) I have a large cat and it's hard to find a sturdy one for cats at or over 20lbs - definitely holds my large cat 2) it was on sale - worth the sale price, I'm not sure if I'd be as happy if I paid full price 3) it looked to be good quality - so far no quality issues 4) big enough for 4 cats to sit on and look out the window - yes they can all look out the window The only thing I didn't think about as a cat owner was the fact that without carpet my cats didn't have anything to hold on to when trying to jump up on the platforms if they don't land perfectly, but I loved the idea of no cat hair to clean off carpet (I was being a selfish human) so I went and bought sticky carpet tiles to put down on the edges and problem solved but I probably wouldn't buy this particular model again BUT I would order from this company. They have tons of different cat trees, they have ones ypu can add on to and replacement parts, AND if you register it they give you an additional years warranty.

I recently bought this cat tree after months of searching for solid wood without formaldehyde. Much to my dismay when it arrived I checked out the pieces in the box and realized that the hammock was only 13" x 18" instead of 18" by 18". I not only spoke with chewy customer service and the company who told me they cannot guarantee me that I would get the right size if I reordered it. Therefore with that answer from both chewy and the company I decided to return it. I also realized after this that I was not the only person to claim the hammock on the top was smaller than descriped.

Misleading description

I wanted this tree because it claimed to be solid wood. The posts (which in my experience is what breaks first) are the same cardboard tubes covered in sisal that

I wanted this tree because it claimed to be solid wood. The posts (which in my experience is what breaks first) are the same cardboard tubes covered in sisal that most other cat trees come with. I have an old one with 2x4s as posts and it has lasted me around 7 years so far (was looking to replace that one) my previous experience with cardboard posts is that they break after 2-3 years so this won’t last as long as I wanted. Also the “solid” wood is pieces of solid wood (around a cm thick) sandwiched with pieces of particle board. It seems pretty sturdy, just not what I would consider solid wood. I do like the aesthetic, it looks nice. So I’m debating whether or not to keep it.

Sturdy but not loved

I was excited about this being solid wood and without faux wool covering it because I'm tired of cleaning embedded cat hair. However, as much as Mom loved it, the fur babies said "meh". They will not use the cubby - well, my boy removes and thrashes the the pad for the cubby (why??). Nor will they dare touch the very narrow hammock on top. And my girl used to love the top level of our old Armarkat tree. If it were a solid shelf, I'm sure she'd use it. It's been 3 weeks that we've had it, so maybe in time that will change. I kept some of the least worn pieces from our old tree and put together next to this new one hoping to encourage more use of the new.

This tree is a nice size and I love the top platform that has a lot of room for my kitten to stretch out on. There are a couple of things I don’t love. It doesn’t seem super sturdy. My kitten is under 7 pounds right now and when he jumps up or down, the whole tower wobbles a bit. I definitely don’t feel comfortable without it fastened to the wall in some way but this tower doesn’t come with anything that would allow me to secure it to the wall. Also, I’m unsure if I got the wrong hammock piece but it’s quite small. It’s also very taut so it doesn’t hang at all like a hammock would.

Wooden Cat Tree

It works great as a cat tree that fits the height of our cat door, so cats can use it to go in and out of the cat door that leads from our front patio into our kitchen

It works great as a cat tree that fits the height of our cat door, so cats can use it to go in and out of the cat door that leads from our front patio into our kitchen. I love that it is wood that I could paint the color I wanted. No more hassle with having to vacuum carpet! The only downside is that the cubby is at the bottom rather than the top. My cats don't use it. They would if it was at the top like other Armakat trees. Maybe they will use it in the winter. Also, they don't use the hammock that is on top. It is too small. But still, it suited my purpose and for a decent price. I put a little cat bed on it attached with velcro. The tree is serving its purpose! I appreciate so many cat tree options from Armakat!
