They are beginnning to use it a little more now. The configuration is a little different from their old one which was falling apart because the columns are just cardboard wrapped around in sisal rope. They had clawed through the cardboard and the top column failed and I found it on the floor. The top platforms of the new one are triangular instead of square like the old one had, and they are smaller so not as comfortable for them, but they are sleeping on them anyway. Both trees are from the same manufacturer.

I have gone through a few cat trees in about 9 years, and this one is by far the most solid. The other ones were wobbly from the start, and only got more and more

I have gone through a few cat trees in about 9 years, and this one is by far the most solid. The other ones were wobbly from the start, and only got more and more wobbly. The hutches are solid, compared to the cheaper ones with fabric sides. The poles are bigger, the platforms are bigger. It's overall bigger and sturdier than the ones I've owned previously. My cats started playing on it before we'd finished assembling it! Initially, I wasn't too fond of the scrunkly fur fabric, which looks like muppet fur, instead of the typical plush carpet-like fabric, but I've decided that it's quirky and unique. I wish it came in a richer brown, though.

Rose got tangled up in the cord holding the balls the attach to it and she screamed her heart out while I found something to cut her free. I cut all the strings holding the balls off the cat tree and everything has been good since. Other than that, she loves sleeping and playing around on the tree. I haven't added the utmost part of the tree because she is small still.

Cats only viewed it with suspicion for a day before moving right in and making it their #1 place to hang out. I have now bought this brand of cat tree 4 times--one tree is still in use in a different area--and I've never regretted it. It holds up well. I got rid of 2 similar Armarkat trees, each about 10 years old I think, to make way for this new one. They were still sturdy and in decent shape, but the upholstery was scratched up, and it had been vomited on so many times that it did not smell great. The best part of this brand is that the enclosed condos, the boxes, are wood on all sides. Most of the trees you see these days have wood only on the bottom with a piece of flimsy material stretched over a wire frame to create a "box". This tree has no chemical smell.
