Cat Trees: A Must for Your Cat

Cat trees are more than important—they’re vital to the well-being of your cat. While cat trees provide hours of entertainment for both you and your kitty, the most important reason to get a cat tree is for your cat’s health and happiness.

Cats Love Armarkat Trees, and So Will You

All cats instinctively scratch, and without a healthy outlet, they will relentlessly scratch furniture, causing damage. Cat trees can stop that.

Why Get a Cat Scratcher?

Cat scratchers provide:
  • A place for your cat to scratch, play, climb and explore
  • An opportunity to teach your cat about different surfaces
  • A chance to practice good grooming habits
  • A diversion from scratching furniture and other home surfaces
  • A great way to entertain your cat while you're away

Choosing the Right Scratcher

Some considerations to help you pick:
  • Vertical cat posts let cats stretch up and scratch down
  • Horizontal scratchers are preferred by some cats
  • Sisal carpet and rope surfaces are durable and satisfying to claw
  • Faux fur is soft and provides a great place to rest and relax.

The Best Cat Tree for Your Furry Friend

Because cats have a need to climb, a quality cat tree provides healthy exercise. If you have multiple cats, the tree becomes a place for them to play.

Different Styles

Cat trees come in a variety of designs and materials, and you can find wooden, plastic and even fiberglass models.

Durable Materials

Armarkat cat trees are designed to be attractive and functional and are made with durable wood, metal and fiberglass.

Easy to Assemble

Most models require no tools at all to assemble, and if you choose a standalone cat tree, it comes with instructions.

Multiple Sizes

Armarkats are available in three sizes: Small (12"H x 12"W), Medium (18"H x 18"W),or Large (24"H x 24"W).

About Armarkat

No one understands cats’ needs better than Armarkat. Armarkat has been making quality pet products for over 30 years, and they boast a well-deserved reputation as an industry leader. Why are kittens used for these pics- fully grown cats would give us a better idea of the sizes of the product?

Answer by ChewyAug 26, 2018
This tree is intended for cats of all life stages including kittens. It's 77 inches tall with 14 x 14 inch perches. The base is 26 x 24 inches, and the cat house is 13 inches tall and 14 x 20 inches. I've attached a product picture featuring the entire cat tree and an adult cat.

Does this particular cat tree have actual carpeting on it?

Answer by ChewyMay 18, 2019
This cat tree uses faux fleece.

What is the material on this tree? I bought my first one with the sherpa like material and it doesn't hold up as well as carpet. Just a suggestion that they change that.

Answer by ChewyDec 13, 2017
This product is made of faux fleece ans plywood.

What are the platform sizes?

Answer by ChewyDec 15, 2020

This one is really tall, and for the most part also stable. However, the long part with the poles isn’t very stable. The hole in part of it was just a tiny bit incorrect and as a result we had to put a stabilizing box under the first landing square to prevent it from wobbling. The rest of the structure is super solid, and can take cats flinging themselves on and off without any problems. I still would recommend it, just know if you get one with an issue you may need to do a little problem solving.

We loved our first Armarkat cat tree

Our cats love this tree so much we got the same one we had. My husband assembled it yesterday and today we noticed the tree has a strong pungent odour. I don’t know if it’s the glue or the recycled materials that were used really but it’s almost unbearable. Made our apartment smell like dirty feet. Sorry for the comparison. I just hope it’s not toxic. I was so excited to receive it for our cats. I’ll give it a day. If the odour doesn’t go away I’ll have to contact chewy. Also our first tree had much stronger ropes and they were thicker. I tried to wipe the polls to eliminate the smell and the strands of the rope got out.

This is exactly what we expected. We did take off the ramp because our cats prefer to climb the scratching posts and jump around to get on the cat tree, but this is sturdy enough and large enough for both of our large 10+ pound cats to play together on. Definitely recommend

We have five cats, three of them over 10 pounds. They have destroyed and toppled several trees. Not this one!!!! They love it and it's sturdy! No wobbling when one takes a flying leap on to it! It took us about an hour to put it together. Highly recommend to anyone with large cats.

So great we bought it twice

We had this cat condo in our house for several years. Needless to say the work of 4 cats meant that it finally got to a point that the rope posts were just shreds

We had this cat condo in our house for several years. Needless to say the work of 4 cats meant that it finally got to a point that the rope posts were just shreds and it needed to be replaced. We found a sale on a smaller condo and now that we just have 2 cats we thought that would be good enough. Well it seems we have a cat who was not willing to give up her old cat condo. So everyday she would come in, look at the new one, turn her nose up, and walk away. So we finally decided to find the exact same condo we had before. This was it! Now finally the picky cat is back up on her spot and loving life again. Also we donated the other condo to a local rescue so win win.

Cat Tree-at!!

My cats love their new cat tree. They love looking down from the top perches. It was easy to put together & feels very sturdy. It arrived quickly & was well packaged

My cats love their new cat tree. They love looking down from the top perches. It was easy to put together & feels very sturdy. It arrived quickly & was well packaged. The instructions were mostly visual diagrams. My only complaint was the coating on the bolts & washers was eroded & looked yucky. However they were functional & really aren't visible once it is put together. Happy cats!!

Overall it's a pretty good product, and my 3 cats love it. My main complaint is that after about a week of hard play from my 2 younger cats, the single pole(front right)that the stairs "rest" on has become loose and/or stripped out, so it just endlessly spins in either direction...my 3 year old toddler figured that out, not the cats, but it's still annoying as now it bends alot when they jump on the landing pad. Not sure if this will eventually need repair/replacement. I did not pay full price, $122 on sale with tax, but I don't believe this product is worth anymore than what I paid.

Works for my fatty fat cats!

Got this specifically for my lazy bum fat fat cats. My 17 year old has zero interest, but the 8 and 3 year olds LOVE it! The 8 year old (male) is about 12 to 14

Got this specifically for my lazy bum fat fat cats. My 17 year old has zero interest, but the 8 and 3 year olds LOVE it! The 8 year old (male) is about 12 to 14 lbs and he is super UNgraceful (as is the 3 year old male, who is about 11 to 13 lbs). They run at it and jump, catching air before hitting the 2nd platform. Even my fatty 8 year old doesn't wreck the very top platform when he launches his big self up there! It was easily put together by a teenager, and is sturdy enough for my lovable fat fats.. Personally, two enthusiastic thumbs up!

NOT FOR LARGE CATS

When we got it some of plywood was broken, the part for the walk way. My boyfriend moved the screws and the bracket so it still works, but I still was unhappy it

When we got it some of plywood was broken, the part for the walk way. My boyfriend moved the screws and the bracket so it still works, but I still was unhappy it came broken. It's also way to small for my cat to comfortably climb up so we took off one of the pedestals so he could jump to the top one. This tree is in the Extra Large cat tree section, I thought it could handle a large cat. The tree itself isn't as stable as it looks with just a small push it tips. My cat is kinda old, 12, and weights 15 lbs he's not gonna be jumping or running around it so it's not a certain for me but for others who have more active cats it might tip over, especially if you have multiple cats. The carpet is nice, and I like the scratching posts, but I already have a small cat tree for that exact purpose which cost a lot less. 2/5 wouldn't not recommend.
