Feeding Instructions
Adult Dog: Feed 1 can (12 oz) Per 12 lbs of body weight daily.
Puppy or Nursing/Lactating Adult: Feed up to twice as much per lb of body weight as an Adult.
Amount of food your dog requires will depend on activity, age, environment, and breed. Feed at room temperature and refrigeration unused portion. Always provide access to clean fresh water.
Mix 25% of the new food in with 75% of the current food for the first 2 days, then mix 50% new food with 50% existing food for the next 2 days, then mix 75% new food with 25% current food for the next 2 days. By day seven, you can feed your dog 100% new food.

This was offered over a period of several days, with no other food on offer. My pup refused to do much more than sniff at it. He would then sort of snort and move
This was offered over a period of several days, with no other food on offer. My pup refused to do much more than sniff at it. He would then sort of snort and move away from the bowl. Finally after several days of refusing this dog food, I offered him some kibble (which he normally disdains) and he gobbled it down, obviously quite hungry. As he did the same thing with another brand I purchased at the same time, and with the same reaction, my guess is that there was something wrong with the aroma of both foods. I must agree with him, both cans did not smell pleasantly at all. If canned food for human consumption can have an appeasing aroma, why can't dog food also? I was hoping that my pup would choose this particular brand as his favorite, simply because his name is Artemus. But now what am I to do with all these cans of unusable dog food?
