The description said that the clamp would work for up to a 4” opening, but my 3.75” opening only worked when we did surgery to remove the combo nut/washer at the
The description said that the clamp would work for up to a 4” opening, but my 3.75” opening only worked when we did surgery to remove the combo nut/washer at the top (we replaced the nut with our own). Once mounted, the issue is that there isn’t enough clearance from the deck rail when you hang a bird feeder. The feeder requires 18” all around to keep squirrels at bay, but it’s a few inches too short to make that happen, even when extended all the way. The height is okay, but it’s only about a foot away from the deck rail. We’ll see how this works and replace if the squirrels are successful. Not sure yet if we’d recommend.
