How does the programming work? Like can we set it to feed 1/4 cup 3xs a day and not have to worry about it while at work?...

This feeder can be scheduled up to 3 times in a day and will continuously dispense food at it's scheduled time until the food runs out. Both the 5 and 10 pound units can be set to serve meals from 1/4 to 3 cups, however, it can only be used with dry cat or dog food that is 0.5 inches in diameter or smaller. Also, we don't encourage use with canned food, moist food, semi-moist food or treats.

How secure is the lid? Can a food obsessed cat knock it over easily to get the lid off?

This feeder has a twist-lock lid helps keep food crunchy and prevents pets from accessing food.

How do you reset the clock after the unit has been turned off?

To set the clock, press the (-) side of the On/Off switch down. Set unit right side up with LCD screen facing you. Clock will flash 12:00 AM automatically. Press ENTER button to set current time. First the HOUR will be flashing/ Use UP or DOWN arrow buttons to set current HOUR. Press ENTER button again and the MINUTES will start flashing. Use UP or Down arrow buttons to set current MINUTES. Press ENTER upon completion.

Is there a timer?

This feeder does not have a timer. It would instead have a programmable clock that would be used to schedule up to 3 feedings daily. If no feedings are scheduled manually, Breakfast is dispensed by default at 6:00 a.m., Lunch at 12:00 p.m., and Dinner at 6:00 p.m.

Loses programming when it’s turned off

Works great, but since we only use it when we have to put the guys in their runs if we need to leave for the weekend, they need completely reset each time we use

It was not a reliable for an automatic feeder

We needed one for a trip since i was not able to have someone look after my pupper. It did well while we were gone for 3 days and decided to keep using it daily

We needed one for a trip since i was not able to have someone look after my pupper. It did well while we were gone for 3 days and decided to keep using it daily. It then started to not work because the kibble was getting stuck on the hopper/feeder part. I noticed it one evening when it was 10-20 mins past the feeding schedule. Tried the manual feed feature to dispense it and it won't work. The troubleshooting notes say that when the schedule indicator is blinking, it means that it did not dispense the appropriate amount of food. The feeder needed to be cleaned and cleared of the kibble that was stuck. It was a pain to empty the hopper, then clean out the feeder and clear off the debris. Its not as reliable as it thought it would be so there were a few times my dog did not get his food as scheduled.

3rd or 4th I've had. Same issue. I don't know if it's the new hidden display, the smaller holding size, or setting the feed setting to lowest, but every one I've had either won't dispense at all, clicks but won't dispense, dispenses at random times, or double feeds. I have two larger of the same for my other dogs, several years old and zero issues. Won't try this one again though. Time for a new brand.

Bad Dispensing

Bad dispensing, did not have faith it would dispense as needed while away from home. Worked for 1 day and failed after that. Bad product but Chewy reimbursed easy-peasy

Power issue
