It is probably a good food, but no for joints and no for dogs who needs more joints supplements, compare other dog food for joint health this food doing nothing. Also, dogs do not like it, it is definitely not the best .

The Only Food for My Dog

    By on

When I first got my little terrier mix rescue as a pup, she had several problems. She favored her back left leg, she leaked and dribbled urine, she developed a rash and had big dry flakes of skin coming up through her dark, brindled fur. My vet said she had subluxated knees and crystals in her urine. She recommended Cosaquin and prescribed Proin and repeat checks on her urine with increased water intake, as her urine was concentrated. I started putting water in her food to be sure her intake was adequate and researching foods for her. I read about Avoderm and figured the Avocado with its great lipids would be good for her dry skin. I tried it and the flaking and rash cleared up. I read about Avoderm and figured the Avocado with its great lipids would be good for her dry skin. I tried it and the flaking and rash cleared up. Her urine seemed to develop fewer crystals with less leakage, too. A few bags later, I decided to try the Avoderm joint to see if it helped her back knees with the Cosaquin. After she'd been on it for awhile, I noticed a significant improvement and she favored her left hind leg much less. Now, after a year on it, she rarely favors the leg, and she no longer needs the Cosaquin. She is now able to jump up into the car without help and rarely yelps in pain when her leg gets tweaked playing with other dogs as she did nearly daily before this food. She's not picky, to be clear, but she loves this stuff. I've added just a few cranberries per day to her regimen; only 3-4 or so with reward treats, and that's been enough, with the water and good food to clear up the urinary problem. I cannot say enough good things about this fantastic food. I'm so very grateful for it and the comfort it's brought my little girl and the peace of mind its brought me. … more

    Just what my dog needed

    By on

I have been looking for the perfect daily food for my dog who typically refuses his pill for healthy joints. He devoured this the very first day, and is a great alternative to make sure he’s getting appropriate nutrients for his age. I highly recommend!

My dog HATES this! She is normally a big eater. She turns her nose away from this. Will not re-oder this brand again.
