Can the pet comfortably stay in the harness with the handles detached? Or do you take the harness off after each use?

Answer by ChewyOct 21, 2025
The harness can be used all-day, even when immobile/resting.

Can a dog pee (male dog) & poop freely in this without making a mess? Is this good for a dog with a torn ACL?

Answer by ChewyJun 19, 2025
This harness does allow pets to easily relieve themselves. Please consult your veterinarian for further guidance on whether it is suitable for your pups needs.

Is this difficult to put on? How long does it take?

Answer by ChewyFeb 19, 2025
This body harness is easy to put on. Simply place the harness under your dog's belly and strap around your dog. The length of time it takes is dependent on your pup and their comfortability.

Useless body harness

Very difficult to get on my disabled dog, a 12 year-old Weimaraner with weak hindquarters. Took 2 adults, and once on, did not assist dog at all in walking. Grab handles awkwardly situated as well. Cannot leave on the dog for any amount of time. Am returning. Opting for a more intelligently designed (and simpler) Help 'em Up Harness.

at first I really hated this product. I hated it so much that I wanted to return it, but since it’s the only one of its kind on the market, I forced myself to come up with a routine of putting it on and off because the Velcro is so strong that you will lose your religion, putting it on the dog the first time if you don’t have it set up correctly. Thankfully the supportiveness was enough to keep me from returning the product and now that I have a routine for putting it on and off of her I love it and she does too. Seeing her little ears perk up outside makes it more than worth it

Our dog is 14 and is experiencing DM neurological issues. This harness let's us help him to walk as his back legs cannot support him. The Velcro straps can be shortened by cutting them and re-attaching the Velcro fasteners. We did this one small piece at a time, to make sure we didn't over shorten. He can go the bathroom without soiling the harness. I would give five stars if there were a shorter lifting handle in addition to the long one for use indoors
