Best I've found , but...

Ok, first, Chewy has the title of this product wrong. It should be "Balto Up, rear dog harness". (How has no one from Balto or Chewy corrected THAT yet?) My 50-pound

Ok, first, Chewy has the title of this product wrong. It should be "Balto Up, rear dog harness". (How has no one from Balto or Chewy corrected THAT yet?) My 50-pound dog had back surgery and wasn't able to walk for several weeks, and needs weight support in his back end for a few more months. I tried several harnesses and this is best I found. It's well made, safe, and sturdy. It's not simple to get on, but that's because you're generally putting it on a dog that's down. It's the situation that makes it tricky, not the harness. It will take you some practice, but worth it. The biggest issues I have are regarding sizing. Obviously it's important to get the sizing right, but the Chewy listing never mentions what to measure. (How ridiculous is that?). Just so you know, you're measuring the very upper thigh of your dog. If you go to Balto's website, they show you. The other issue is that there's a size missing. There's a size covering thigh measurements of 6" up to 21", except the measurement from 13.75" to 15.75". Medium stops at 13.75" and Large stars at 15.75". I can't imagine the reason for this. Unfortunately my dog's measurement falls within this missing size so it doesn't fit him quite right. We've found a way to work around this, but for what you pay for the welfare of your dog, it would be good to have it fit correctly right out of the box. I hope this info helps someone out there whose buddy is down and needs some help. And I hope Balto and Chewy will fix the listing to be more accurate and Balto will provide that missing size.
