How many calories per pump?
Answer by ChewySep 25, 2020
Best Paw Nutrition Premium Dream Glucosamine Joint Support Dog & Cat Liquid Supplement has approximately 0 calories. The bacon flavoring is a proprietary plant based bacon flavoring. None of Best Paw Nutrition Glucosamines have any fat content and are not an oil as they are based in purified water, not oil or any other lipid.

Can this oil be used long term, without stopping? Or is it meant to be used for the amount of time listed on the bottle?
Answer by ChewyOct 23, 2019
This supplement can be used long term.

The feeding chat suggests to give with am feeding and pm feeding but I only feed my dog once a day. Can I give the am and pm dosing in the pm so he still gets both doses every day?
Answer by ChewyFeb 21, 2021
A pet can be given the AM and PM serving amount at the same time. We just ask that pet parents begin slowly with only half the amount so pets can get used to the new supplement.

Excellent!

Great product. I use it for my 2 elderly cats. It's made a huge difference in their mobility.

Glucosamine

This is an oil based solution. I was hoping it was like the one I purchased locally that changed their product. I find I don’t like the smell but my dog doesn’t pull away when I give it too him so I will continue. The pump makes you give just the correct amount which is what I was looking for.

Ohio dog mom

Product works really well for my furbabies. The packaging needs to be re-evaluated. Pump and bottle both leaked leaving a mess. It is to expensive and effective to waste. I can't imagine this container/pump combo passing any Engineering testing or shelf life stability testing. I have tried both bottle sizes with no improvement. Currently I have transferred the product to a squirt bottle (like for ketchup/BBQ) which is much better.

Has helped our boxer

Our 10 year old boxer was on a different joint supplement which was difficult to find. We switched to this and the difference was quite noticeable. It’s not a fix, but it definitely helps. Every dog is different but our boy is running and jumping a little more than he did before we switched.

Glucosamine

It helped our cat but did not take care of the problem. Our cat's leg still buckles when she walks but not as much before she started on the glucosamine.

Great but pump never works

Every time I get this I always have trouble getting the pumper to work right. While the product itself is good the company needs to get a new pumper for the product. The last bottle I got the pumper completely never worked. Usually it’s just I have a hard time turning it the first time to get it going.

Best Paw Glucosamine really works

I was sad seeing my dog Jax getting old before his time. He's only 8 years old. Medium size Sheppard/Border Collie mix. He inherited hip dysplasia from his Sheppard lineage I believe. The last few years I have watched him struggle getting up, not running, seemed depressed. This supplement had him looking and feeling better in a few weeks. He is MUCH more active now, even runs a bit chasing our other dogs. He plays again. There is no cure for his condition, but after 4 months of this medicine I see his quality of life is so much better it's worth it. My friends and family that come over remark on how much better Jax is doing. Thanks Best Paw!

Bottle broke, messy

I purchased the bacon flavored supplement, my dogs don’t love the flavor - I can tell because my two food-gorging retrievers eat their meals tentatively when this is in their food. Additionally, the bottle broke after 3 days of use. Now dispensing it is a gross, messy endeavor.

Whatever it Takes

I love my Aussie, Joey so much. He came into my life right when I'd lost a very dear member of my family. He even has their same date of birth. Anyhow, my little guy is 10&½ and still loves to be a "puppy"... He can do tricks, talk, and tell you when he has to go outside. He a great companion. A part of our little family. When he started to limp, at only 8 years old, it broke my heart. He's so vibrant and happy, most of the time, and now this. I tried everything to help boost Joey's morale. The vet said to introduce glucosamine and chondriton. I did, no change at all. He also said to try alternating heat and ice. Have you ever tried applying heat/ice packs on a dog? No fun for either of us. Even tried a heating pad, which he loved, but did nothing to help his swollen ankles. When I say swollen, I mean a heartbreaking tripling in/of normal size; causing him to hobble and break my heart with the tiny whining, stumbling gait. The vet re-assessed. Now we were plunging into prescription drugs. They were costly(even with insurance) and did nothing except either constipate or loosen bowels. Neither of which I was thrilled with. Joey regressed to pre-potty trained. And still stumbling and whining. Even a full month of vomiting daily. At this point I was done. I invested in a lot of toys, soft play mat flooring and indoor potty patches to help him lessen the radius of his universe. It was a very sad reality. But then, about four or five months ago, a friend who also has an Aussie recommended this " Best Paw" Product to me. I immediately dismissed it. There was nothing that would make me put my Joey through all that again... Until the hounding of my friend and the realization that Joey was in pain. More than just aches, but really in pain. So, we tried it. And, you know what? It works! Now, it's not a cure all. But Joey has visible diminished swelling and limping. He still whines(but I think some of that may be for attention) and some days he's less active and more swollen. But it has made a positive difference in his life. We will continue to use it for as long as we see benefits. Dosage is a little hard to control at first, but you'll get the hang of it. They recommend both day&night feeding for dosing. Joey has never been a big nighttime eater, so we adjust to an early morning and a late afternoon dose. Some say their pets eat it mixed in kibble. Joey will not. He will easily eat it on bread though. Whatever it takes to assure me that he got the full dose. Sometimes, if he's being dramatic(he has a drama dog streak) I'll give it to him mixed in shaved ice... Like a bacon snow cone. It works for us. Give it a try. It may work for you too.
