Besties Adventure Dog AirTag Holder, Blush Pink

Nice flexible silicone is non abrasive and works perfectly until. It falls off. One day you’re taking a walk with your friend and you don’t notice that the AirPod just pops out of place and lands on the ground a few blocks from your home. Luckily, the AirPod holder thing this review is written about lost an actual AirPod and so using the app on the iPhone my friend and I simply retraced our steps and found the AirPod right where it fell off her collar when we went for a walk this morning. We found the AirPod on the ground in front of someone’s house, along the sidewalk, exactly where the AirPod finder app said the AirPod would be. The pod location even matched the address of the house where it fell. The cute little pink silicone device stayed with the collar that stayed with the dog. I didn’t notice the AirPod was missing from the device attached to my dog’s collar until I was putting her collar and her leash on, as we were preparing to head out for our usual evening stroll. Due to some material defect of this product, the pod literally plopped out of the space where it’s supposed to be held in place. The device was not run through a washing machine, it did not get left out in the rain, it wasn’t dipped in solvent, abandoned in a hot car or exposed to any extreme conditions. It simply failed with normal use. This leads me to believe this product works perfectly until one day it doesn’t. The silicone material loosens and eventually, with the small amounts of friction and the bending of the deep surface of the device in a convex manner, conforming to the curvature of the dog collar around the dogs neck, the material this device is made of eventually becomes too floppy to serve the purpose of attaching the intended AirPod to the intended dog collar while being used normally by a normal dog who wears the collar primarily on normal use. Just a walk once a day around the nearby neighborhood, a few blocks maybe 6 or 8 blocks, nothing strenuous. The one factor that might be notable here is the heat. Normally we walk at night at around 8 or 9 or 10 pm, when the July Tucson temperature drops down into the low 90’s, sometimes even the pleasant 80’s. The rain hit hard yesterday evening so we delayed the walk until this morning. The temp may have been in the low to mid 90’s at around 10 am, nothing too extreme. Is it possible that some change in the weather affected the material, increased elasticity or simply breaking down of molecular bonds in the material from UV light? At any rate, I hoped this product would last longer than 2.5 months. Sadly, I cannot attest to this product’s design in terms of durability with normal use in hot climates. My dog is not especially active or rambunctious. She didn’t scrape it off or gnaw it off or chew it off. The material of this dog collar AirPod attachment device is not durable enough for dependable wear. I don’t want to have to go out searching for an AirPod after a routine dog walk. It was an adventure that proved that the AirPod worked fine but I am hoping for minimal adventures of this type.
