The doors all have to be attached, so you could just leave it off.

I see you can attach two crates together, however is it possible to attach two and remove one side from each to create a longer, larger crate?

You can attach multiple crates together, and remove both sides of a crate to do so.

Good Crate but Bad, Cheap & Odd Size Tray

The crate arrived intact and went together well with adequate instructions. The crate itself is solid and I am sure it will last for several years. I am not a fan of the cheap door latches as you have to fiddle with them more than you should to open and close the doors. The biggest issue is with the cheap, very thin plastic tray that came with the crate. It is not your standard thickness plastic crate tray but rather it is very thin and fragile feeling. I ferl if I flex it slightly the wrong way its going to break in half. I do not expect it to last longer than a month with my growing lab puppy. To make matters worse, the crate is a very odd size and after a month of searching I have yet to find a replacement tray out there that will fit it. The largest tray that will fit it is 40.5" x 26". There is a tray in the market from "Pet Lodge" that is advertised at that size but I found out the hard way that tray is actually 41" long even though its advertised everywhere at 40.5". A 41" tray is too long and will not fit the crate. I guess I am going to have to sacrifice and buy an expensive custom built metal one.

This is a truly gorgeous and sturdy kennel. So far, I've gone through three different wire kennels with two of my rescue dogs - they can bend wires, pop welds and are regular Houdinis. Oreo, an Aussie-Golden mix, has popped wire welds loose twice and impaled his paw both times in his bid for freedom. Truly scary to come home to and thank goodness he is fine. He HAD to have a better kennel. Then I found this beauty. Great reviews, looked like it would be pretty, and best of all, solid and sturdy construction. In person it lives up to all of those claims. My daughter insisted on assembling and built it backwards - learning experience, she now knows when a drawing highlights something in red it means it's to go on the outside! LOL I got the crate pad as well and so far, he seems happy, or as happy as he can be in a kennel! I used it to replace an end table in my living room and am completely thrilled it's doing its job and keeping him safe. I'm going to have to order another to replace the other wire kennel. Granted, it's only been a couple days but I see no way he can destroy this or cause any problem. The only con is the plastic catch-all tray that slides beneath is SUPER thin plastic and I don't see it holding up. But that's beyond minor if it keeps him safe during the day.

The latches are very easy for a convicted escape artist such as my dog to easily and quickly open.. the bottom pan is also not very thick and will be shredded if you have a hyper pup, I suggest buying a metal pan replacement for a back up and maybe some zip ties, HOWEVER as far as the metal and structure and overall build of the crate I’m very impressed, it’s beautiful and the top is scratch resistant and waterproof and the metal bars don’t bend thank goodness. Hope this helps!

I bought a large. Although he fits in it now at six months, he likely will not. He already sits in his head is almost touching the top. But hopefully by the time he does reach the top of it he’ll be running free in the home when I’m not home

Beautiful crate that keeps the room clean

I bought two of these to create a space for my super grandma cat so that she has an area for litter, food, and bed. It was easy to build, quality is one of the best

I bought two of these to create a space for my super grandma cat so that she has an area for litter, food, and bed. It was easy to build, quality is one of the best as it seamlessly blends in like a furniture, there are multiple ways to access the inside to clean the litter and fill her bowls, and I love that it is modular. She seems very happy in her new space and the layout and design of this crate has made it easier for me become a better cat mom in keeping her area significantly cleaner. I'm now able to convert the cat room into cat + my art room thanks to the manageability and aesthetics of this beautiful crate. I'll be able to spend more time with her now.

I bought two XXL crates for my little 15 pound dog. Combined them into one massive suite. I had a lot of doubts doing this, but ultimately, he likes it and I am much more comfortable leaving him alone for extended periods of time in a safe but comfortable space Topped it off with my potted plants and a television. It is very good looking and sturdy. Easy to assemble with the instructions and came with extra hardware. Highly recommend!
