We have a hard time finding allergy friendly options that are also easy to chew. The pieces are a bit harder compared to other brands. But will break down with a fork if lightly soaked in water

The reasons I like it for my pets are: First ingredients are Beef, Beef Heart, Beef Kidney and liver. (I have a dog allergic to chicken) High in protein No artificial flavors or colors. (Yep, it's brown beef) Has added vitamins and minerals Can be used as a training treat, meal, or topper. But the best reason is that my three dogs really liked Blackwood Meal Topper Beef Recipe with Sweet Potato. Cheech, Boots, and Harlee ate them as treats, meal toppers and as a meal. And all 3 gobbled Blackwood Meal Toppers Beef with Sweet Potato till it was all gone.

We are super happy with this product! My dog likes it and can tell when he’s getting a little extra on his dry food-he gets super excited! We avoid food made from animals with feathers so this beef and sweet potato flavor was an easy choice. Simple ingredients and made in the USA. I do feel like the bag could have been filled more so I don’t give it to him every meal so it will last longer. I would definitely consider buying more as a treat for our dog.

Blackwood’s Beef and Sweet Potato Toppers were such a pleasant and successful experiment at our house. Our Golden Retriever and the two Littles (Coton de Tulear breed) had been getting a more expensive brand of freeze-dried toppers twice daily along with their meals. They went wild with the Blackwood experiment, and it looks like all three dawgs will be demanding Blackwood for the near future. What a hit! We just have to remember to store these toppers on the top shelf!
