Answer by KristinDec 18, 2025
Yes. From their website, "Grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers, our hay comes from sustainable farms that care for both animals and the earth." They also mention their hay is organic.

What cutting is this? 1st, 2nd, 3rd?

What is the NSC for this hay?

I did have to buy this elsewhere even though I first found it on Chewy. I was trying to order before the snow storm. Thankfully it arrived in time and has been well received by our bun. The flakes are easy to manage. It is very heavy but well strapped up and boxed. Hopefully when it's time to repurchase, I will be able to order it when needed

This product is easy to pull apart for feeding. Nice and dry. Straw like consistency as opposed to some hay that is more grasslike. However, my horse, Appey, didn’t like it. She wouldn’t even try it. We tried hand feeding, putting a bunch on the ground beside her regular hay and mixing in with her regular hay . She wud nose thru the mixture till she found her regular hay and not touch this Blue Mountain Hay. However, my goats, Tim and Bob loved it. They dove right in and ate it up.

This high altitude timothy hay is great!!! I sampled it with my horses and my cows and they all love it. It comes well packaged in a box. The hay is compressed and bound tightly together. It’s a little messy once I opened the bale but if you place it on the ground right, it can still be broken into flakes. The hay is very clean looking. There are no weeds to be seen. The hay is also very green and fresh. Compressed bales are convenient to feed for certain situations. If I needed good quality hay in a pinch, I would get this stuff. It is very high quality and packed full of nutrition!

A lot of bang for your buck!

My bunnies would not eat Timothy hay so I had been spending a lot of money on Orchard grass. Decided to give Timothy a chance again because of my , and man do they

Very dusty and lots of brown hay

I usually by this brand and have never had an issue until this last box. It is extremely dusty and lots of brown hay mixed in. Not very satisfied with this box.

Good hay, a bit pricey

This is a good "snack" to add to my horses diet. They love it, but it's a bit cost prohibitive to use as a total hay ration. I'm lucky to be in an area with an abundance

This is a good "snack" to add to my horses diet. They love it, but it's a bit cost prohibitive to use as a total hay ration. I'm lucky to be in an area with an abundance of hay, most years, but this would be a good product if I found myself running short or if I had a horse that had more issues chewing, as this is a softer hay.

Great quality!

Got this for my guinea pigs and rabbits and they love it!!! No dust like other companies. We will most likely continue to purchase this in the future.

So dusty!!

Bought one box and it wasn’t too bad, so I bought two more and they are both horribly dusty!! Afraid to buy anymore!

This is absolutely excellent Timothy hay. Our hay crop in the NE this year has been unfortunate. My senior mare is having a hard time with it so I've been supplementing with Blue Mountain Timothy, Teff and Orchard grass. The quality is first rate. Fresh smelling, minimal dust and best of all my mare devours it. I mix some of all three and soak it serving it warm and well soaked. I also feed their Timothy and teff pellets soaked. I recommend all Blue Mountain products highly.
