My Guinea pig Louie is a picky guy, I’ve tried various Timothy hay brands/types for him and there is only one bag he will eat that is organic and soft. So I was excited to see what he would think of this Teef Grass as it wasn’t one I had heard of before. I offered him his normal hay as well as the Teef Grass and he happily jumped between eating both! The cuts of grass are smaller, shorter and softer than Timothy hay. And he really seems to love the added variety. The bag is packed full and a little handful goes a long way. It also contains less calcium than alfalfa hay, so I feel comfortable feeding this to him on a regular basis.
"HAY CANDY" FOR YOUR ANIMAL FRIENDS

Hay forms the foundation of my daughter’s pet bunny’s diet. We have always provided Bobo with timothy hay, but I wanted him to try TEFF GRASS by BLUE MOUNTAIN HAY because I think it’s a good idea for him to have a variety of hays for different tastes, textures, and nutrients. I offered him a handful. Bobo seemed to like the fresh, sweet smell, and he did nibble a little bit. However, right now, he still prefers his crunchy, stemmy 1st cut timothy hay. Maybe after some time, he will acquire more of a liking for the softer, less stemmy Teff Grass. We will store it carefully to keep it fresh as long as possible. My daughter wants to get a hamster and guinea pig too. I doubt that my wife and I will give in, but if we’re crazy enough to do so, there might be some Blue Mountain Teff Grass left for them.
Nice but a few problems

I've had bunnies for years. Mine use a hayfeeder to not waste as much hay. This grass is chopped in very small pieces so it would definitely fall out of a feeder and on the little ones head. There was a bit of powder too which as we know can cause respiratory issues. All my little ones did eat it. Some, not right away but got to it later. They still have their favorite(oat hay)I do appreciate where and how it's grown. If the grass was chopped in longer pieces, I would definitely rank it higher.
Not great, don’t recommend!

Disappointed in the quality of this grass. Have never used teef grass before so don’t really know what to expect but if this is it, I don’t recommend. The pieces of grass are brown & on average, 1-2 inches long & ultra thin. I mix all the various types of hay together in a big bin & all of the teef grass pieces fall to the bottom into the pile of hay dust. Completely useless & my rabbits don’t seem to like it. They go for the nice green & thick types of hay. The price is also high for a subpar product. Do not recommend.

I usually feed my rabbit orchard grass and Timothy hay, and he’s always very excited when he gets a fresh pile and will eat it immediately. However he had absolutely no interest in the teff grass. I’m not sure if it’s just a preference thing or if he doesn’t like it, but I tried to encourage him to eat it over the course of a couple days and even though I tried swapping it out with more fresh grass or handing it to him, he didn’t want to eat it. It also seemed very dried out compared to the other hay/grass products I’ve given him, but I’m not sure if that’s normal for teff grass

When I first opened the package for this one, I was a little confused. I’ve never seen hay this thin or cut so short. Turns out that it makes it a lot easier to grab a handful for feeding without long, sometimes woody pieces hanging out, but because it’s thin pieces, it also falls out of my grip easily as I try to get it to the piggy’s cage. On the plus side, he loves it! The thinner pieces are easier for him to chew, so it’s quieter at night when we go to bed and he’s still chomping away. But if you’re looking for something to help with tooth wear, this one probably isn’t the best. I can’t say I noticed any difference with his digestion versus the stuff we usually get, but since our piggy enjoys it, I would still consider getting this variety again for the resealable package that actually seals!
Bun seems to like it
My bun is getting to be a little chunky so this hay sounded like a good idea to try. It does smell nicer than typical hay and is more fine. I like the resealable

Guinevere and Merlin really loved this product. Guinevere (the Lop) is slightly on the pudgy side, so, if the nutritional claims for this hay are true, that is a real plus. The general dietary recommendations for rabbits is 80% hay. My buns eat large quantities of hay, which I get in 40 pound boxes. This Teff grass is a great treat to supplement Guinevere’s and Merlin’s regular diet of 1st and 2nd cut Timothy hay. It would hardly be practical to use this as their main diet due to the cost. All in all, a good product, albeit pricey.
Once they tried it, the pigs wouldn't stop eating.
Like true guinea pigs, mine approached this hay with caution, but once it passed the sniff test, they dove right in. It's noticably soft to the touch, but its shorter
Like true guinea pigs, mine approached this hay with caution, but once it passed the sniff test, they dove right in. It's noticably soft to the touch, but its shorter and thinner than other brands of hay that I usually buy for my pigs. While they don't mind that, I find it makes a bigger mess than I'd prefer. It smells nice - like fresh-cut grass.
Buttercup and Bo Peep approved!

My guinea pigs can be picky but they love this hay. They were very curious at the new flavor and soft texture, but they quickly made it disappear. I like the nutritional content and that it is supposed to be easy to digest (one of my piggies is elderly). I will be getting more of this brand!
