Blue Mountain Hay Orchard Grass Hay is grain free and 100% pure hay. It's grown in the high altitude of the Pacific Northwest. I didn't know that the high altitude causes the hay to be grown at a slower growth rate which in turn makes the hay packed with nutrients. Plus it's softer, cleaner, more fragrant, and less stemmy, It's also easier to digest. What I noticed was the small pieces and the good clean smell. Sista F really liked it! Sista & Domino liked it so much that they choose Blue Mountain Hay over their favorite pellet mix. Blue Mountain Hay is family owned and they donate to Christian Aid Ministries and SALT Agri-plus teaching farmers in developing countries.

I was gifted this hay to feed to my 2 rabbits. They did eat the hay and seemed seemed to enjoy it.. not necessarily more or less than their usual hay. The hay smelled fresh and seemed to be good quality. One thing I did not love is there were so many very small pieces of hay. When I was refilling their litter boxes, the little pieces were getting everywhere, and they didn't really get eaten as much as the longer pieces. Overall, I would not purchase this specific hay again, but I would try other hay from the brand.

I had high hopes for this Orchard grass, and while my guinea pigs were interested at first, they and I were quickly unhappy with it. It is extremely clean hay with a fresh, bright, smell, which is nice, but it is minced into tiny pieces. This does not allow them the proper chewing exercise they need. It also seems to frustrate them as they lost all interest within minutes. Instead of eating it, it stuck to their feet and made a mess of the cage. They could not benefit from the weight gain properties of Orchard hay and my clean up was extensive.
Great quality, but turns out bunny prefers timothy
This hay is very soft and sweet smelling. The quality seems great and there is a lot in the bag. I also love that the company has a lot of good info on their website
This hay is very soft and sweet smelling. The quality seems great and there is a lot in the bag. I also love that the company has a lot of good info on their website and clearly states that they quarantine their hay for RHDV2. I chose this variety because my 10 year old rabbit is having a hard time keeping weight on and it said it's good for weight gain. Compared to the Oxbow timothy hay it does have more protein and fat, which should be good for an old guy like him, but unfortunately he was not a big fan. I'm giving it 4 stars because the quality seems excellent and so does the company, but apparently it's not to his taste and he prefers the timothy. I gave some to my other bun and she loved it, but she needs to lose weight, not gain, so it's not a great option for her other than as an occasional treat.
Bunny took to it immediately!

We usually stick to the same hay, so it was nice trying this Blue Mountain High-Altitude Orchard Grass Hay. My bunny was immediately intrigued and loves it. The quality of this hay is excellent, giving us peace of mind. It's 100% pure hay and grain free. The orchard grass variety has a wonderfully soft texture and sweet aroma, which is a hit. Furthermore, the high-altitude pacific northwest sourcing results in a premium product that arrived fresh, and green. We love that it is Free from additives and preservatives making it a natural and healthy diet option. My bunny highly recommends.
Just ok

The rabbits seem to like it and are eating it fine. It has the texture of mown grass which is different than what I am used to but I don’t know if that is good or bad. It is similar in texture to the bottom of the hay container when it gets empty and it’s just the small scraps and dust.I have only ordered hay in a small quantity online but it was Timothy hay and it wasn’t in small pieces like this hay. I wouldn’t buy it again.
Piggie-approved

I've never given my guinea pigs anything other than the usual bag of timothy hay. I wanted to offer them something new to try for some variety. this Orchard Grass Hay seemed well packed- not smushed or broken. I put some in the cage and the guineas gobbled it up. It's nice to give them their usual hay and use this as an extra treat, which I'm doing a couple times a week now. I'm very pleased with the quality of this product and plan to purchase regularly.

This hay is very soft. It’s more like a betting Haven but the rabbits did eat it. It took him a while. They preferred Timothy hay over Orchard, but it’s great to fatten them up for the cold. it comes in a convenient small bag so would be great for travel. I prefer to buy my hay in bulk.
Fresh, soft, short hay

Smells amazing but cut super short.

The hay smells amazing but it is cut very small. My bunny prefers a crunchier hay and has not really eaten this. He enjoyed it as bedding but preferred a different hay to eat. He is a pretty picky bun so maybe it was just the change in hay length.
