So when this food showed up, it seemed promising. It was nicely packaged like a big pack of sardines and was easy to scoop out. However, out of two cats, it only received very minor interest. One (mostly finicky) cat investigated and avoided the food all together. My other cat, who seemingly eats everything, sampled it, but decided against eating more. The food sat out for hours with no further interest from either cat. Another can went untouched the next day.

Having a cat with a chicken sensitivity, I really appreciate Boat to Bowl cod pate. The texture is outstanding, and my cat very easily digested the product. She even licked the bowl completely clean! The container of the food is unique and quite adorable, which mimics a can of sardines. The ONLY semi-negative critique that I have is the specific ingredient potato starch: I'm not sure why a starch is required, and it's not something that I desire to have in high quality cat food. If not for this specific ingredient, this food is a hit with my fish-loving kitty!

There are a lot of things I like about the Boat to Bowl Pet Food Cod Pate. The container is a good size and the top is easy to remove. I was concerned about sharp edges on the container, but it seemed okay. The lid might be dangerous if one is not careful in disposing of it. The food looked good, no greasy slime that sometimes canned food gets. I have a ten year old cat who, as anyone with a cat know, is a picky eater. She sniffed it and walked away. She returned a few minutes later and licked the top and seemed to be satisfied. I was relieved and happy that I would be able to give this food five stars, but noticed an hour later that she barely touched the food. I still would have given the food at least four stars, but that evening she had a terrible case of diarrhea. This lasted for 24 hours and when she was back to her other food, the diarrhea went away. I am going to give the rest of the food to our cat nanny and see if her cats have the same reaction and how they like it. I will update this review once I have heard how her cats did.

However, while my little royal cats passed on this several times- my neighbors cats loved it!!! I think for cats that love natural wet food- this is a big win. I really like the packaging design and recyclability of this product, and have been struggling to get my cats to take omega 3 supplements (our vet recently suggested additional omega 3 for one of my senior kitties), so am very pleased that they loved this pate. They are usually in-gravy-only cats so changing their consistency in a wet food with a bonus of omega 3, and an easier product to hide additional supplements in, was a win for all of us.

Not a fan of the can

At first, my cat was interested and he ate some of it. By the time he got through the second portion of the can, he didn’t like it and refused it from that point

At first, my cat was interested and he ate some of it. By the time he got through the second portion of the can, he didn’t like it and refused it from that point on. Also the packaging - while it’s very clever and cute, it’s not very practical and it really has a lot of sharp edges once you take that lid off. It’s hard to repackage if you don’t use the whole can. I just am not a fan of this product and neither is my cat.

He ate it, but after I add water to it and liquid it down more. I also had to add dry kibble to top it off. I also will sprinkle cat nip for a topper too. The

He ate it, but after I add water to it and liquid it down more. I also had to add dry kibble to top it off. I also will sprinkle cat nip for a topper too. The happiest thing I can say it is not chicken. I have been alternating the two "boats". Thank you so much. Hope to get his diabetes under control soon.
