It took a little while to write this review because I have three very picky eaters! What they like one day, they may completely ignore 2 days later. The Boat to Bowl Salmon is created for both cats and dogs. 95% fish, grain free food topper! I tired it first with my two cats (as a topper, which they usually have with each meal). The girls didn’t touch it, nor did they eat the dry food under it. They sniffed it walked away, and they vocally protested to be fed. I left it out for much of the day and it remained untouched. So then I fed them their regular food. My next attempt was with my 2 year old dog, who happens to love most things salmon flavored. Again, I used it as a topper (he also gets topper every meal). He tried a bit of the Boat to Bowl, and then ate the portion of his dry food not touching the topper. Two weeks later I tried to give them all (two cats and dog) just the Boat to Bowl in their dishes for breakfast. No one touched it. It didn’t help that the house boss (my 14 year old cat, seemed suspicious of the change in breakfast options). I let the Boat to Bowl sit in all their bowls until I gave in to the loud yowls, meows, and puppy pats on my leg. Then I got up and fed everyone their regular favorites and all the noise stopped. So, my pets weren’t into the Salmon Boat to Bowl, but perhaps yours will be! The packets are the perfect size for two meal toppers and it smells good to me. Maybe next time!

Happy cats! This had a surprising texture (Probably my ignorance to what natural salmon looks like.) It actually looks like dried canned tunafish that had been mashed - that’s not a bad thing at all, it’s just not what I expected. Nota strong fish odor, also more like tuna. I have one indoor cat that loves salmon and one outdoor abandoned rescue cat that does not seem to like salmon. Both cats LOVED this! The pouch was more than enough as a food topper so I store the rest in a small container. It stays well in the fridge without drying out and maintains its consistency (Unlike wet cat food.) it was a hit!

My dog has a lot of allergies so I was really excited to see that he could have this! It has very few ingredients and seems to be good quality. I was worried it would have a strong odor due to it being mostly salmon, but the smell isn’t too strong. The scent is kind of similar to canned tuna. My dog seems to enjoy it quite a bit, sometimes he pauses while eating like he’s unsure about it, but he always finishes the whole bowl and licks it clean, then searches for more! Sometimes his stomach can be sensitive to new foods but this didn’t seem to bother him at all

She isn’t picky and will normally eat anything, but she prefers some things over others. Now the cats…they loved it! It was a hit with them and they meowed for more.
