My rowdy dog, stands on the sofa to look outside, & when he gets excited, his claws tear-up the couch cushions. This sturdy cover, fastens snuggly, resisting rearrangement, & damage
This is not even the least bit water resistant. My dog licked a wet spot and it went straight through to the couch. This is mo different from throwing a very thin blanket over the couch. I expected more for something at this price point that claims to be protective.
I bought this cover at the end of January. It's now the beginning of April and I'm very pleased with its performance. I did not buy this with any care for whether it might keep the sofa DRY. My purpose was to keep my poor nervous boxer from DIGGING literal holes into it. So I really can't comment on how waterproof it is. I don't know. But lemme tell ya, this cover has stood up to my dog's abuse wonderfully! There are hardly even any popped stitches and not a single hole. This comes after multiple attempts to cover couches and other chairs with blankets, both the type you use on a bed and also moving blankets, which we thought might hold up better. They didn't, and we ended up losing a couch and a chair in the end. I decided to take a chance on this cover and it's been a life safer! Or couch saver, whatever. So, is it waterproof? I dunno. Want to keep your furniture out of the landfill due to doggy claws? Get this!
This was supposed to be a cover to keep piddle off the couch. It had one job. When going to give it a launder, I was deeply dismayed to find that underneath the cover (in the center of the couch where it could not have come in from the sides) was a big wet spot. The piddle had gone right through the cover into the couch. Needless to say, we stopped using it.
