This hard cheese snack comes from an ancient Himalayan recipe, using only four natural ingredients—including yak and cow milk and a splash of lime juice and salt. It’s a durable treat that’s made to last for dogs that need plenty of chewing time. Try Himalayan cheese for a highly digestible and tasty alternative to rawhide. As your pup gnaws, he’ll be able to bite off small, cheesy bits that are rich in protein but free of grains, glutens, binding agents, artificial preservatives, colors or flavors. And when he gets down to the last bite, you can pop it in the microwave for about 30 seconds (add 10-second intervals if needed) and cool it down for a delicious puffed snack your dog can continue to enjoy.

After reading other comments on these I decided to try them as my girl has allergies that leave her with limited options for treats. She loves ice and veggie dents but she's a Wheaten terrier so they don't last very long and she's always wanting more. (She goes through two big plastic cups of ice every night! I limit the veggie dents as I don't think she needs the extra calories.) Anyway, she absolutely LOVES these! She can chew on them until she's exhausted, go get a drink of water and go back to it again! One of the longer ones will last her a few days. I bought these because I saw the video on this site! I had a 5 month boxer puppy and she was chewing everything. I was uneasy not knowing if she could have this for fear she would swallow it as she lays on her back with treat in mouth. And what was this?? Cheese? was it hard? soft? I bought the large to try it...it did not go down her throat, it was hard and a great "bone" to chew on! it lasted a long time (days) and she Loved it!! when it got smaller I put in microwave for 30 seconds and it got Big again...Cooled off then gave to dog for more pleasure seeking nibbles..Good to the last drop!! bought a lot more!!

My three dogs love these chews! I have two Boston terriers and a mixed breed small dog. I try to keep plenty on hand so we don't run out! They are a hardened cheese made from yak's milk. Chewy.com has them at a cheaper than my local pet store, so I buy them from their online store.

  • Awesome Chew

10 month old loves them. They last a long time also. Was nervous when I first received them because the first bite she took came off fairly easy! Stuck that piece in the microwave and that was it! haven't had any issues since, seems like the first bite comes off easy in a large chunk.

  • Pup loves them

    By on

Well - this is a mixed review. My dog loves these. I don't! When the weather gets better and he can have one outside, all should be well. Inside they are a crumbly mess. And I don't feel like vacuuming every time he wants to chew. So, waiting for warm weather. ;-)

  • best chews ever

We have one major chewer/ toy destroyer and one that doesn't play with or chew on anything and they both love these sticks. The chewer is a cattle dog boarder collie mix and she devours everything. I love these because they're not super pricey and they last a few days. I can't get the lab boxer mix to play with anything, but he enjoys chewing these!

  • Yak bones review

We have a terrier and a German Shepherd. These bones satisfy their chewing needs and won’t break up and damage their throat or stomach. Once they get about 2” square you can pop them in the microwave for a minute and they puff up. Our dogs love these!!

  • Break Apart Easily

    By on

I was really excited about these, but they break apart super easily. Other brands I've tried generally last my dog 4-6 weeks, but I don't think these will even make it 4-6 hours. Very disappointed.

  • Big hit with the pack!

    By on

Our pack consists of 4 Dobermans & 1 JRT...they are big chewers & we are always looking for new things that can satisfy their need to chew, are of good quality, affordable, & can stand up to their jaws. Although they only lasted an hour (at the most) they lasted longer than most chews!! And they never stopped til they finished them!

  • Not for our dog

    By on

Our Akita is not to fussy an eater but she's not real fond of these treats. When she is given one she just sticks it into some odd corner around the house. Has had no interest in chewing on it. A two star review may not be fair for the product, another dog might devour them. Unfortunately, ours doesn't.
