Left untreated, this inconvenient, matting algae can cover the rocks and corals in your finned friend’s or invertebrate’s home. This powdered solution helps remove stains caused by red cyanobacteria by promoting an ideal enzyme balance and oxidizing organic sludge that has been trapped. This Boyd Chemi-Clean treatment is suitable for both fresh and saltwater aquariums and all invertebrates, fish, corals, nitrifying bacteria and macro algae.

Aquarium oxygen levels must be increased using heavy aeration or a large air stone.
Turn off any UV sterilizers and ozonizers and remove any Chemi-Pure or carbon during treatment.
Continue using a protein skimmer, although skimmer may require adjustment to prevent excessive overflow.
Maintain normal water flow using pumps and powerheads.
Add Chemi-Pure.
Successful treatment may take up to 48 hours. After the 48 hour treatment period, preform a 20% water change.
Turn on any UV sterilizers and ozonators and replace Chemi-Pure or carbon removed previously.
Repeat as necessary. Chemi-Clean can be used monthly as a regular component of aquarium maintenance.
Your Skimmer is working overtime to remove the left over residue of Chemi-Clean left in your system. If this excessive flow is too much you may dilute the Chemi-Clean remaining in your system by addition water changes. The replacement of your chemical filtration will also help. If your protein skimmer is in a sump just let the skimmer overflow in sump. This process will cease in a few hours.
No, Chemi-Clean has been extensively tested with thousands of fishes and invertebrate’s including SPF’s with no adverse effect. Not following directions exactly can cause adverse effects. You must follow the directions exactly.
You may add it directly to the aquarium from the scoop or for a better dispersal dilute treatment in small cup of aquarium water then pour into aquarium.
Yes this is common with heavy infestations you must be sure to follow the directions and complete water changes after the first treatment when the first 48 hours is past and the water change has been made you may repeat the whole cycle again. This may be done as many times as needed.

This worked for my blue cyanobacteria. Thought it was algae but a lot of googling led me to try this. It didn't work on the first try but I attempted again by better following the directions (Add additional oxygen / air to the tank) and upping the dosage slightly and it worked like a charm.
We have a large tank, this really didn't get rid of the algae, Chewy was AWESONE for the price and delivering the product
I had a horrible Cyanobacteria infestation and this product took care of it.
This is by far the BEST product out there for cyanobacteria, just follow the instructions step by step and it works like a charm. It will work on all types of cyano including the red slime and blue/green slime. Love it. A+++
Quickly removes that ugly slime that I thought was some form of algae. Use as directed and you will notice an improvement within one week. I let my treatment "cook" for a couple of days and then do a partial water change. It is part of my monthly maintenance program.
