How well does this material hold up to scratching and chewing?

This bed is waterproof however, it is not chew-proof or scratch resistant.

With the foam having a protective layer does that mean you can clean the foam as well to help fight odors?

Place unrolled compressed bed on a fat surface in a warm, well-ventilated room and allow 24-48 hours for expansion. New memory foam will initially have a slight odor; it is completely harmless and will dissipate over a short time with regular use. To expedite odor dissipation, remove and wash the cover and place in a dry, sunny location.

What is the top material made out of for the blue trellis model? Which bed surface material of the 3 would be the most breathable/cool?

This pet bed features a 100% polyester cover. The Navy and Red models feature Polyester Faux Fur on top.

Mattress Mold

The foam mattress ended up full of mold. Even with washing the cover multiple times and drying it. It was horrible.

So easy to wash!!!

I just take the fitted sheet cover off and wash it. It is so quick and easy to put back on. Way quicker than worrying about a zipper. We have a pond in the back

I just take the fitted sheet cover off and wash it. It is so quick and easy to put back on. Way quicker than worrying about a zipper. We have a pond in the back yard and the dogs track in all sorts of mud but it’s no problem for when company is coming. I believe I have washed them 3 times now and cleans up and fits back on the beds great.

I had hoped for more

My dog has had this pillow for a few months now. The pillowcase is surprisingly fragile, and my case came completely apart at the zipper seam while I washed it today. I was washing the pillowcase today because my dog was really sick (LOTS of diarrhea, but still hungry haha) and while I was cleaning I realized there was a big spot of what I assume is either mildew or mold (pictured). I always put the bed back together completely dry, and my dog hasn't have accidents in the crate since before this purchase, so I'm concerned as to how this happened on a dry bed. I know that the sources of mold & mildew are usually user error, but I know for a fact that this bed has been kept dry under my care. I guess I'm just disappointed with how many issues suddenly came up after spending money on something that I hoped would at the very least last a year. I'm likely going to have to throw this away anyway. Without a working pillowcase it's not really a good idea for my dog to lay on it anyway, and with this mold/mildew growing under the plastic despite regular care, I just don't think it's worth it.

Great supportive bed

This is a nicely supportive, thick pad that perfectly fits my dog's kennel. She even likes to sleep in there during the day when I leave the door open! It's hard

This is a nicely supportive, thick pad that perfectly fits my dog's kennel. She even likes to sleep in there during the day when I leave the door open! It's hard to find such supportive beds for my big girl since she is 57 lbs. I've washed the cover several times and it has held up.

Dogs don't really use it.

I tested bed and they are soft and comfortable but the dogs don't really want to use it unless all other beds are being washed.

Our dogs love these beds. My 6 year old Great Dane finally needs a new one. Our mini boxer is getting a replacement just because his is 5 years old. But! It’s not flat at all. There’s plenty of support left. I highly recommend these, especially if you have a giant breed dog!

The bed its self is sturdy. Big old dogs like it. Fell off of it a few times while asleep at first. The cover is very thin, it might be somewhat water resistant,

Had it 2 days and hole in top cover. I need to figure out a canvas replacement cover to fit. The second layer barrier held it’s just the fleece is not thick or strong enough. The foam and egg crate padding is absolutely great. That gets 5 stars. I would recommend only if the company offers a stronger fabric replacement cover or optional cover. Large dog beds for large dogs need to be ready for harder wear.
