    I wouldn’t say ‘can hold 20 chicks’

By Chicks on Jan 29, 2021

I enjoy this product. It’s safe and not a fire hazard like the heating lamps which I would never use again. However this is a small unit. I would say can hold up to 10-15 chicks. I got two so I could hold 24 chicks.

    Works wonderfully

By Lindaz on Feb 4, 2021

Bought this heater for the brooding box for 6 chicks. Works wonderfully as all 6 can cuddle together. In a week, as the chicks grow, it can be raised slightly to lessen the heat a little at a time.

    It's great

By Chicklover on Feb 7, 2021

I got 15-3 day old chick's, I bought two to be sure there was enough room for warmth. They all went under one at first but then spread out, they love it. It's great.

    Best little chick brooder

By Lilchick on Oct 17, 2020

Had a hen that refused her 4 chicks. Needed a brooder set up right away. I have used the regular heat lamp and brooder pen in the past. Didn’t want to set it up for just 4 chicks! So I searched for the best alternative. Came across the heat plate version and of course I trusted the name Brinsea. Chewy.com was my choice both in price and quick delivery. I have to say that this method of brooding them worked out really well. They slept more and are healthier and stronger than chicks raised under a light....I would recommend to everyone to give it a try.....

    Way too small!

    By dab1 on Jul 25, 2020

This would never work for 20 ducks, it doesn't even work for 15 chickens past the first week! This works for 6, maybe up to 10 chickens until they are feathered out. Quality is a lot better than it use to be. But does me no good since all my chicks cannot fit under it.

    Great product

By Chickmama on Jun 16, 2020

I searched many sites for a chick heater for my chicks and everywhere was sold out or extremely expensive. Chewy had exactly what I needed and the price was $30 less than other sites-and free shipping! I will definitely check out Chewy again!

The 'No Worry' heating solution for chicks

By Norm on Mar 4, 2020

I live in North East Florida. We will have occasional nighttime freezes during the winter but usually stay above freezing. This warming plate performed flawlessly. It is easy to clean, adjust for height and the 'little red light' lets you know its on and working with just a glance. The low electrical pull is a plus for the wallet, as the EcoGlow 600 stays on 24/7. I received 9 chicks that were 2 days old from Meyer Hatchery in Ohio, on 12 Feb 2020. The warming plate helped to keep all 9 comfortable and healthy. Today, at just over 3 weeks old, all 9 are thriving. I highly recommend this product over the old standard heat lamp.

    WAY better than a light

By Nader on Jun 15, 2020

Lower risk of fire, the chicks like it better, and the power draw is much much lower. Overnight my battery only drops .1 Volts

    Much better than heat lamps

By DSherrill on Feb 14, 2020

This brooder is much better than using a heat lamp. Chicks can huddle under it to stay warm and they can leave when they don't want heat anymore. I love the low wattage and never worry about fires like you do with a heat lamp. In addition, heat lamps heat more than just one area which does not give the chicks relief if they want it. My chicks love this. I highly recommend Brinsea products.
